KSUM Introduces Mission 14X to Connect Industry Experts with Student Startups Across Kerala

Mission 14X

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) has launched Mission 14X, a statewide initiative aimed at connecting experienced professionals and domain experts with next-generation innovators to provide guidance, mentorship, and strategic support for entrepreneurship and innovation activities across Kerala.

The Mission 14X programme seeks to leverage the expertise and industry knowledge of professionals from diverse sectors to evaluate and strengthen emerging startup ideas developed under the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre (IEDC) network of KSUM, which operates through campus-based clusters across the state.

As part of Mission 14X, KSUM has invited professionals to join the expert network and contribute to innovation and entrepreneurship initiatives emerging from IEDC clusters across all 14 districts of Kerala.

Interested professionals can apply to become part of the programme through the official application portal.

Professionals possessing more than seven years of experience in technology, leadership, innovation, business development, and startup ecosystem building are eligible to become members of the Mission 14X Expert Network.

Speaking about the initiative, KSUM CEO Anoop Ambika said, “Mission 14X aims to create strong district-level expert pools capable of supporting cluster-level innovation programmes, startup screenings, technology validations, and entrepreneurial ecosystem-building activities.”

“By bringing together experienced professionals and young innovators, the initiative seeks to strengthen Kerala’s position as a leading startup and knowledge-driven economy,” he added.

The Mission 14X programme is expected to attract professionals from a broad range of domains, including finance and investment, business strategy and entrepreneurship, technology and product development, research and innovation, startup ecosystem development, industry mentorship, and academia.

Faculty members with expertise in innovation and startup development have also been encouraged to join the initiative’s expert panel.

Experts associated with Mission 14X will play a key role in strengthening KSUM’s flagship innovation and pre-incubation initiatives, including IDEABOX, the IEDC startup incubation programme designed to help students transform innovative concepts into viable business ventures through structured evaluation, mentoring, and support.

Through Mission 14X, students will be able to submit innovative ideas via IEDC, participate in pre-incubation programmes, receive expert feedback, and present their ideas before panels comprising industry mentors and investors.

Selected teams will receive structured support in critical areas such as problem-solution validation, product-market fit assessment, customer profiling, competitor analysis, business planning, prototype development, stakeholder engagement, and investor networking.

Designed as a flexible and impact-driven engagement platform, Mission 14X enables experienced professionals to contribute their knowledge and industry expertise while supporting Kerala’s rapidly expanding innovation ecosystem.

The initiative also offers professionals opportunities to engage with emerging technologies, breakthrough innovations, evolving industry trends, and promising young entrepreneurs from across the state.

Experts joining Mission 14X will gain greater visibility within Kerala’s innovation ecosystem, collaborate with leaders from various industries, and expand their professional networks while contributing to grassroots innovation and entrepreneurship development.
