  • Docterz Raises ₹5 Crore From Around 35 Investors, Including Doctors And Vineeta Singh

    Docterz founder Dr Atish Laddad

Mumbai: Docterz, a healthcare technology company founded by practising paediatrician Dr Atish Laddad, has raised ₹5 crore from approximately 35 investors.

The investor group includes around 20 doctors who use the Docterz platform, along with Vineeta Singh, Co-founder and CEO of SUGAR Cosmetics, and Avnish Anand, Co-founder and former CEO of CaratLane.

Dr Dhananjay Sangle and Dr Suhas Warad, both paediatricians, are among the doctor investors. The investor group includes doctors who have used Docterz for several years.

Dr Atish Laddad, Founder of Docterz, said: “As a paediatrician, I started Docterz because I understood the challenges doctors face while managing a practice.

Doctors want to give their patients the best possible care, but they also have to manage documentation, staff, appointments, follow-ups and the many other demands of running a clinic.”

On the use of the funds, Laddad said: “We will use this funding to grow organically, explore inorganic opportunities and bring practical AI tools to the doctor community, tools that solve everyday problems and fit into the way doctors work.”

The Docterz funding will support organic growth and inorganic expansion opportunities, to reach more doctors and healthcare organisations across India.

It will also go towards AI-enabled tools for doctors, covering documentation, administrative workflows, understanding practice data and supporting patient follow-up.

Docterz also plans to reach more independent practitioners and smaller clinics, helping them adopt technology suited to the way they work

Founded over a decade ago, Docterz brings together electronic medical records, appointments, billing, vaccination management and patient engagement in an integrated platform.

The company says its technology supports more than 5,000 doctors across India, with a strong presence in paediatrics.

The company describes its platform as an electronic medical records and practice-management system that also covers pharmacy and laboratory management, patient communication, analytics and teleconsultation. It says it emphasises privacy, security and responsible use of patient information.

Laddad says: “What makes this funding round special for me is that around 20 doctors who use Docterz have chosen to invest in its future. They know the product, they have seen its evolution, and they understand the needs of the medical community.”

Vineeta Singh says: “One of the strongest signals for any business is when its customers are willing to invest their own money in it. That is what drew me to Docterz.”
