Henkel India Partners with Navkshitij to Open Inclusive Skill Development Center in Pune

Pune: Henkel India has inaugurated a new Skill Development Center at Navkshitij, Marunji, as part of its CSR commitment to inclusion and skill development.

The project focuses on STEM education and skill development for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities, Henkel India said.

The center will support individuals aged 10 years and above and also includes a solar facility.

The center is equipped with machinery that gives students hands-on training in practical skills, including plate making, camphor making and incense stick making, as well as laundry and ironing.

Different molds also allow students to learn how to make diyas and pots.

“Every individual deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute meaningfully to society,” said Nilesh R Adkar, Head Product development – General manufacturing & maintenance, Henkel Adhesive Technologies, IMEA.

“Through our partnership with Navkshitij, we are creating a platform that nurtures skills, confidence, and self-reliance for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities,” he said.

“We hope this center will empower participants to explore their abilities, unlock new opportunities, and lead more fulfilling lives,” the Henkel India executive said.

In addition to vocational training, the newly developed hall will serve as a multifaceted space for cultural programs, creative activities, community gatherings, and group engagement sessions.

The inauguration took place in the presence of Henkel CSR committee member and Pune site head Dr. Prasad Khandagale, regional managers Pradeepkumar Verma, Dr. Mihir Patel, Dr. Mayur Chaudhary and other Henkel employees.

Navkshitij trustees Smita Shetty, Pandurang Alurkar, Balasaheb Wayal, Prathmesh Gad, students and other beneficiaries were present on the occasion.
