Mumbai: CavinKare, in collaboration with the Madras Management Association (MMA), has announced the opening of nominations for the ChinniKrishnan Innovation Awards 2026.
The national platform recognizes and encourages innovative ideas and impactful entrepreneurship from across India. This year, CavinKare has reintroduced the ‘Great Idea’ category with an expanded scope to include student innovators as well.
Under this category, 10 outstanding ideas will be recognized, marking a significant increase compared to previous editions where only one winner was awarded.
Through the ChinniKrishnan Innovation Awards 2026 initiative, CavinKare aims to strengthen its commitment to encouraging innovation at the ideation stage itself.

ChinniKrishnan Innovation Awards 2026: Categories
- Innovation Category
The Innovation category is open to startups and MSMEs with proven, market-ready products or services that demonstrate differentiation, scalability, sustainability, and tangible benefits to people.
Three winners in this category will receive:
- Cash prize of ₹1,00,000 each
- Citation
- Trophy
- Great Idea Category
The Great Idea category is open to all individuals and institutions, including entrepreneurs, researchers, academicians, and students.
The category recognizes original ideas that are highly relevant, problem-solving, and possess strong future potential, regardless of whether they have been commercially implemented.
Ten winners in this category of ChinniKrishnan Innovation Awards 2026 will receive cash prizes of ₹10,000 each.
The awards were instituted in memory of Late R. ChinniKrishnan, regarded as the pioneer of India’s sachet revolution. The initiative honors innovations that make quality products and solutions accessible to the masses.
Since its inception in 2011, the CavinKare-led initiative has built a strong legacy of recognizing and supporting entrepreneurs who challenge conventions and create meaningful impact across industries.
Over the years, the ChinniKrishnan Innovation Awards 2026 have recognized innovations across sectors such as biotechnology and healthcare, assistive technologies, environmental sustainability, clean energy technology, AI-driven platforms, robotics and automation, affordable medical devices, smart sanitation, sustainable packaging, agri-tech, and digital technologies addressing real-world challenges.

Winners in the Innovation category will receive national recognition along with access to a comprehensive mentoring ecosystem facilitated by CavinKare Private Limited and the Madras Management Association.
This includes guidance in marketing, finance, design, packaging, research and development (R&D), human resources, and intellectual property, as well as opportunities to connect with industry experts for one year and establish business relationships with financial institutions. The organizers will not hold any financial stake in the participating ventures.
The selection process will involve a multi-level evaluation conducted by a distinguished jury comprising industry leaders, venture capitalists, and academic experts. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for further discussions along with video presentations.
Applications for the Innovation category are open to startups and small enterprises with annual turnover not exceeding ₹50 crore during FY 2024-25 or FY 2025-26.
The Great Ideas category in ChinniKrishnan Innovation Awards 2026 is open to individuals and organizations across India without any turnover criteria. Applicants must either be Indian citizens or their ideas must originate in India.
