Pune: KonveGas, a Swedish clean-tech innovator, has announced its strategic entry into the Indian market as the country advances its gas-based economy and green hydrogen ambitions.

The company aims to address India’s critical energy storage bottleneck by introducing its advanced composite cylinder technology, with Delhi, Pune, and Gujarat identified as priority regions for initial operations.

KonveGas is set to showcase its Type 4 composite cylinder solutions at India Energy Week 2026, marking its official debut in India.

The move aligns with growing demand for safe, lightweight, and efficient energy storage solutions across the transport and industrial gas sectors.

Advanced Composite Cylinder Technology to India

Founded by Alexander Enulescu, KonveGas specialises in Type 4 advanced composite cylinders designed to be lightweight, non-corrosive, and durable.

These cylinders are engineered to reduce lifecycle carbon impact while maintaining high safety and performance standards, supporting India’s push for lower emissions and sustainable energy infrastructure.

For FY2024–25, KonveGas Sweden AB reported annual revenue of approximately 37.55 million SEK, translating to around ₹29.3–₹30 crore, highlighting its growing global footprint in clean-energy technologies.

India’s Energy Storage Bottleneck

While India has made rapid progress in renewable energy generation, storage remains a key challenge. KonveGas is positioning its solutions to meet this gap, focusing on safety, efficiency, and weight optimisation – critical factors for both mobility and industrial applications.

Commenting on the expansion, Alexander Enulescu said India represents a pivotal market in the global energy transition, with strong potential for sustainable storage technologies tailored to local requirements.

KonveGas Identifies Delhi, Pune and Gujarat as Priority Markets

KonveGas has identified Delhi, Pune, and Gujarat as its initial focus regions, citing their importance to India’s automotive manufacturing, industrial gas consumption, and clean-energy adoption.

To support its India strategy, KonveGas plans to:

  • Leverage global certifications: Its products meet international safety and quality standards for Type 4 composite cylinders.
  • Localise supply chains: The company is evaluating the availability of high-grade raw materials within India to support domestic manufacturing.
  • Explore strategic partnerships: KonveGas is open to joint ventures or technical collaborations with Indian corporate partners.

Engaging Investors and Partners at India Energy Week 2026

With plans to be operational within the next six months, KonveGas is initiating discussions with institutional investors and strategic partners aligned with a carbon-neutral future.

India Energy Week 2026 will serve as a key platform for meetings and the presentation of composite cylinder solutions adapted to Indian climatic and infrastructure conditions.
