Sauce Labs Launches AURA Real Device Cloud in India With In-Country Data Locality

Sauce Labs

San Francisco: Sauce Labs, the end-to-end agentic software quality engineering leader founded by the team behind Selenium and Appium, announced the expansion of its Real Device Cloud, part of its AURA (AI-Unified Release Assurance) platform, to India.

The Sauce Labs expansion is designed to support the growing number of enterprise engineering teams operating in India, which has become an important hub for global software and quality engineering.

Today, 80% of Sauce Labs’ biggest customers run engineering teams in India, according to the company. These customers need real device infrastructure that can scale alongside their engineering operations.

As more code is written with AI, more code needs to be verified before it can be shipped. This is increasing the requirement for in-region, low-latency and agent-friendly real devices.

The new data center brings real iOS and Android devices in-country, along with the AURA software stack. It also provides developers with direct programmatic access to the infrastructure.

Sauce Labs AURA Brings In-Country Real Devices

Sauce Labs AURA authors, runs and analyzes tests, with humans in control, verifying that each release does what the business intended.

With the India expansion, the AURA Real Device Cloud offers access to real mobile devices hosted in India. Developers and AI agents can use these devices to test mobile applications across iOS and Android.

The India region also provides an in-region data-locality option for organizations with data-locality requirements.

The Sauce Labs Real Device Access API gives AI agents and scripts programmatic access to real mobile devices from developers’ IDEs, without replacing existing systems.

This gives enterprises access to additional devices that are unique to the APAC region while extending the Sauce Labs AURA platform and the enterprise governance controls customers already use globally.

“India is where a growing share of the world’s software, and the AI that helps write it, gets built,” said Prince Kohli, CEO of Sauce Labs.

“Our customers need to know that every release does what the business intended. With AURA in India, they can verify releases against business intent close to where the code is written, at the speed at which code is now being written. This maintains trust in shipped software even as humans are less and less involved in its creation. With one of our R&D centers also situated in India, customers have the confidence of easy access to experts as well.”

Sauce Labs AURA Includes AI Governance and Security Controls

The India region operates under the same enterprise security and AI governance controls that Sauce Labs applies across its global infrastructure.

The company holds ISO 42001 certification, validating the controls in place for the development of AI. The India data center will also be included in the company’s December 2026 ISO 27001/27701 recertifications.

The expansion therefore provides enterprises with an in-country option while operating under the security and AI governance controls applied across Sauce Labs’ global infrastructure.

Sauce Labs Has R&D Presence in India

Alongside its infrastructure expansion, Sauce Labs has an R&D center in India. The local presence gives customers access to the engineers who build the platform.

The company said the combination of in-country real iOS and Android devices, data locality, programmatic access and local expertise is intended to support enterprise engineering teams as AI increases the pace and volume of software development.
