New Delhi: In a significant boost to indigenous defence manufacturing, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) has signed a ₹449 crore contract with Accord Software and Systems Private Limited (ASSPL), Bengaluru, for the procurement of 20 Enhanced Capability Global Navigation Satellite System Jammers for the Indian Navy.
The agreement, which mandates a minimum of 75% indigenous content, has been awarded under the Buy (Indian-Indigenously Designed, Developed and Manufactured) category.
The contract for the Enhanced Capability Global Navigation Satellite System Jammers was signed in the presence of Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh in New Delhi on June 10, 2026, reinforcing the Government’s continued emphasis on self-reliance in defence production under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat and Make-in-India initiatives.
According to the Ministry of Defence, the newly procured Enhanced Capability Global Navigation Satellite System Jammers are designed to degrade the satellite signal acquisition and tracking performance of adversary Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) receivers.
The systems also possess signal spoofing or deceptive jamming capabilities, enhancing the operational effectiveness of Indian naval platforms in contested environments.
The induction of these Enhanced Capability Global Navigation Satellite System Jammers is expected to facilitate safer operations for Indian Navy ships operating in complex and multi-threat scenarios.
By disrupting hostile satellite navigation capabilities and employing deceptive jamming techniques, the systems are intended to strengthen the Navy’s operational preparedness.
The ₹449 crore procurement of Enhanced Capability Global Navigation Satellite System Jammers also underscores the Government’s commitment to expanding indigenous defence capabilities.
With a minimum indigenous content requirement of 75%, the project aligns with the broader objective of promoting domestic design, development, and manufacturing within India’s defence ecosystem.
The Ministry stated that the contract further reinforces the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat and Make-in-India while strengthening the country’s maritime security architecture.
The acquisition of Enhanced Capability Global Navigation Satellite System Jammers marks another important milestone in ongoing efforts to enhance defence capabilities and accelerate the indigenisation of advanced military technologies.
By placing the order with Bengaluru-based Accord Software and Systems Private Limited under the Buy (Indian-IDDM) category, the Ministry of Defence aims to support domestic industry participation while equipping the Indian Navy with advanced electronic warfare capabilities suited for evolving security challenges.
