Panaji: Indian pure-play regional airline FLY91 has leased two ATR 72-600 turboprop aircraft from Dubai Aerospace Enterprise, a UAE-headquartered global aviation services provider, supporting the airline’s next phase of network expansion across India’s regional markets.

The two brand-new aircraft are scheduled for delivery later this month from ATR’s manufacturing facility in Toulouse, France.

With this induction, FLY91 will scale up capacity, enhance flight frequencies on existing routes, and commence operations to new destinations including Hubballi (Karnataka), Vijayawada and Rajahmundry (Andhra Pradesh), Nanded (Maharashtra), and Dabolim (Goa).

Following the delivery, FLY91’s fleet size will increase to six aircraft. The expansion is aligned with the airline’s strategy to strengthen regional air connectivity, particularly across tier-2 and tier-3 cities, while deepening air links to underserved destinations.

Commenting on the development, Manoj Chacko, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, FLY91, said the transaction supports the airline’s approach to building a scalable and resilient regional aviation model.

He noted that the ATR 72-600 continues to play a central role in FLY91’s operations, offering efficiency, reliability, and performance well-suited for short-haul regional routes. The continued partnership with Dubai Aerospace Enterprise also enables fleet growth while maintaining financial discipline and capital efficiency.

FLY91 had earlier inducted its first two aircraft through Dubai Aerospace Enterprise, reinforcing the long-term leasing relationship between the two entities.

Since commencing commercial operations in March 2024, FLY91 has steadily expanded its footprint, connecting Goa’s Manohar International Airport with destinations such as Solapur, Jalgaon, and Agatti in the Lakshadweep Islands.

The airline also provides connectivity to major urban centres including Pune, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad, alongside emerging regional hubs such as Sindhudurg.
