New Delhi: The National e-Governance Division (NeGD), Digital India Corporation, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY), has joined hands with Sahakar Taxi Cooperative Limited to support the upcoming Bharat Taxi initiative – a first-of-its-kind, cooperative-driven, citizen-first national ride-hailing platform set to launch in December 2025.
Under the collaboration, NeGD and Sahakar Taxi Cooperative Limited have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to extend advisory and technical assistance in platform integration, cybersecurity, privacy, compliance, and governance.
Bharat Taxi Partnership with NeGD to Drive Inclusive and Secure Digital Mobility
Bharat Taxi is jointly promoted by leading cooperative and financial institutions including NCDC, IFFCO, AMUL, KRIBHCO, NAFED, NABARD, NDDB, and NCEL.

The initiative reflects the cooperative movement’s values of trust and inclusion, aligning closely with the Digital India vision of delivering secure, technology-enabled, and citizen-centric services nationwide.
Integration with DigiLocker, UMANG, and API Setu for Seamless Service Delivery
Through this partnership, NeGD will guide Bharat Taxi in integrating with national digital platforms such as DigiLocker, UMANG, and API Setu, ensuring seamless digital identity verification and unified service delivery.
NeGD’s advisory support will cover:
- Platform Integration & Technical Architecture: Strengthening interoperability across key national platforms.
- Security, Compliance & Infrastructure: Ensuring full adherence to government data protection and cybersecurity standards.
- Programme Advisory: Providing governance and programme management guidance for large-scale implementation.
- UI/UX & Accessibility: Enhancing interface design, multilingual access, and inclusivity for all users.
