Munich, Germany / Bangalore, India: Infineon Technologies AG has announced the acquisition of Bangalore-based C2i Semiconductors, a technology company specializing in software-defined multiphase controllers and smart power stages for AI data center applications.
The acquisition is aimed at strengthening Infineon’s leadership in power solutions for AI data centers while expanding its engineering and innovation capabilities in India.
C2i Semiconductors’ technology complements Infineon’s portfolio of power semiconductors and power systems, enabling intelligent and scalable power delivery architectures from the grid to the core for AI servers and high-performance computing platforms.
The transaction is expected to close in the third quarter of calendar year 2026.
C2i Semiconductors to Strengthen Infineon’s Digital Power Capabilities
Through the acquisition of C2i Semiconductors, Infineon will add specialized expertise in intelligent digital power management, multiphase controllers and system-level power architectures.
The technology is particularly focused on vertical power delivery, including Substrate Integrated Voltage Regulators (SIVR).
The acquisition is expected to further strengthen Infineon’s capabilities in developing software-defined power architectures for AI infrastructure, where increasingly powerful processors require faster and more precise power delivery.

Infineon to Combine C2i Semiconductors Technology With Global Portfolio
The acquisition will combine C2i Semiconductors’ digital power expertise with Infineon’s global scale, application know-how and broad portfolio of power semiconductor technologies.
Infineon’s portfolio includes silicon, silicon carbide (SiC) and gallium nitride (GaN) technologies, alongside vertical power delivery solutions. The combined capabilities are expected to support the development of future Substrate Integrated Voltage Regulators (SIVR).
Together, Infineon and C2i Semiconductors will accelerate innovation in AI power delivery systems and address the growing performance and efficiency requirements of next-generation AI infrastructure.
The transaction will also add highly specialized expertise in software-defined power management to Infineon’s global research and development network.

The acquisition further strengthens Infineon’s innovation capabilities in India and reinforces the country’s role as a strategic innovation hub for the company.
Infineon currently employs approximately 2,800 people in India, which it describes as one of the world’s dynamic semiconductor and technology ecosystems.
With C2i Semiconductors, Infineon plans to expand its engineering capabilities in India and establish a new center of excellence for digital power technologies.
The acquisition is expected to support Infineon’s broader efforts to develop intelligent power solutions for AI data centers and high-performance computing platforms, combining C2i Semiconductors’ specialized digital power technologies with Infineon’s semiconductor portfolio and global customer reach.
