Honeywell has announced an agreement with Technip Energies, an engineering, procurement and construction contractor, to deliver integrated liquefied natural gas (LNG) pretreatment and liquefaction solutions for the planned Commonwealth LNG export facility in Cameron Parish, Louisiana.
The collaboration with Technip Energies will support the development of a large-scale LNG project designed to produce 9.5 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) of LNG, addressing growing global energy demand.
As part of the project, Commonwealth LNG, which operates under the Caturus platform, will deploy Honeywell’s single-mixed refrigerant liquefaction process technology along with six modularized coil wound heat exchangers (CWHEs).
These modular systems are designed to accelerate project timelines, simplify execution, reduce construction-related risks, and enhance production efficiency.

Technip Energies Partnership to Enable Modular LNG Production at Commonwealth LNG
Honeywell’s modular CWHE technology enables high natural gas throughput within a compact footprint, allowing for space-efficient processing while improving operational reliability and safety.
The modular approach also supports off-site fabrication and streamlined installation, contributing to faster project delivery.
In addition, Honeywell UOP SeparSIV pretreatment technology will be used to remove water and heavy hydrocarbons from the natural gas feedstock to meet LNG quality specifications.
The pretreatment solution is designed to operate with varying feed compositions and can deliver up to 50% lifecycle cost savings compared to conventional removal processes.
Technip Energies Wellhead-to-Water Strategy
Commenting on the development, John Palamara, Vice President and General Manager of Honeywell’s LNG business, stated that Honeywell’s end-to-end LNG solutions and modular delivery models help customers reduce construction timelines, improve speed to market, and enhance overall investment returns through optimized LNG project execution.
Caturus Chief Executive Officer David Lawler said the capital investment in the Commonwealth LNG platform represents a major milestone for the project and aligns with the Technip Energies wellhead-to-water strategy.
He noted that the development is a key step toward establishing a global-scale LNG operation and advancing the financing process currently underway.
