Pune Airport passenger traffic crossed the one-crore milestone in 2025, marking a significant year-on-year growth of 6.1 percent.
The airport recorded a total of 1.08 crore passengers during the year, reinforcing its position as one of India’s fastest-growing airports.
Pune International Airport witnessed strong growth in both passenger movement and flight operations throughout 2025.
Daily flight operations have crossed 200, supported by the commissioning of the new terminal, which has enhanced passenger handling capacity and improved overall airport infrastructure.

Pune Airport Passenger Traffic Boosted by New Connectivity
The launch of the new terminal has enabled the addition of new domestic routes, while the introduction of the Pune–Doha international service has expanded the airport’s global connectivity.
Improved passenger amenities and increased city connections have played a key role in driving Pune Airport passenger traffic volumes. Compared to 1.02 crore passengers in the previous year, Pune Airport recorded an increase of nearly six lakh travellers in 2025.
Pune Airport Passenger Traffic: Flight Operations See Steady Growth
Flight operations at Pune Airport also registered a notable increase. The number of flights rose from 67,484 in 2024 to 70,992 in 2025, reflecting a growth of 5.1 percent.
The rise in aircraft movements has directly contributed to higher passenger traffic at the airport.
To efficiently manage the growing volume, airport authorities have strengthened digital and technical systems.
Initiatives such as Digi Yatra, e-gates, inline baggage screening systems, passenger flow management solutions, and 106 flight information display screens have reduced waiting times and improved real-time information access.
According to airport officials, passenger satisfaction levels have improved, with surveys indicating better global rankings.

Infrastructure Expansion Planned for 2026
Looking ahead, several transport infrastructure developments are expected in 2026. These include the renovation of the old terminal building at the existing Pune International Airport in Lohegaon,
the commencement of construction of the new Pune airport at Purandar in the second quarter after land acquisition, and the expansion of PMPML’s fleet with the addition of 1,500 buses.
