UST BITS Pilani MoU

Thiruvananthapuram: In a strategic move to bridge academia and industry, UST, a global digital transformation solutions provider, and Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani, one of India’s top technical institutions, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (UST BITS Pilani MoU) to drive deep-tech research, innovation, and talent development.

The UST BITS Pilani MoU outlines a multi-faceted academic-industry partnership focused on co-developing next-generation technologies across high-impact areas such as Photonics, Quantum Computing, VLSI, AI, MedTech, Humanoid Robotics, and Semiconductor Design.

The agreement was formalized at UST’s Thiruvananthapuram Campus in the presence of senior leaders from both organizations.

Advancing R&D and Innovation

The collaboration will lead to joint research projects, development of Proof of Concepts (PoCs), patent filings, and commercialization-ready products. By combining UST’s AI-driven engineering expertise with BITS Pilani’s academic depth, the initiative aims to solve real-world industrial challenges.

Through relAI, our AI-led digital engineering suite, and cutting-edge capabilities in semiconductors and smart manufacturing, we aim to enable students and researchers to translate academic research into industry-ready solutions.”

Talent Development and Skilling

As part of the UST BITS Pilani MoU, UST will provide:

  • Structured internships for final and pre-final year students
  • Technical mentorship and access to prototyping infrastructure
  • Placement support via direct engagement with the BITS Pilani placement cell
  • Curriculum co-design and faculty development programs
