New Delhi: The Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, has announced the selection of 21 distinguished educators from Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and Polytechnics across India for the National Awards to Teachers (NAT) 2025.
National Awards to Teachers Recognize Excellence in Higher Education
The National Awards to Teachers are conferred on faculty members who demonstrate exemplary contributions in teaching, research, outreach, and innovation.
Initially instituted for school teachers, the awards were expanded in 2023 to include two categories – HEIs and Polytechnics – under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which emphasizes rewarding and recognizing outstanding educators to cultivate a culture of excellence.
