IndiGo Ventures

Pune: IndiGo Ventures, the corporate venture capital arm of IndiGo airline, has announced its investment in Sarvam, India’s full-stack sovereign Artificial Intelligence (AI) company, as part of Sarvam’s Series B funding round.

The investment by IndiGo Ventures builds on the existing relationship between IndiGo and Sarvam, which have been working together to enhance customer experience, empower employees and streamline complex operational workflows across the airline through Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies.

According to the companies, the investment creates a long-term platform to accelerate AI-led innovation and operational excellence at IndiGo.

Aviation brings together high volumes of customer interactions, time-sensitive operations and a large, distributed workforce.

The collaboration between IndiGo and Sarvam combines IndiGo’s core aviation expertise, operational scale and real-world use cases with Sarvam’s capabilities across AI models, voice and agentic systems.

The partnership is aimed at creating technology-enabled, modern and future-ready airline infrastructure, with IndiGo Ventures supporting the broader strategic relationship between the two companies.

Our partnership with Sarvam gives IndiGo access to cutting-edge AI capabilities, built in India, and tailored to the needs of the market.

By combining these technologies with our operational expertise and scale, we can accelerate innovation while maximising value for our customers, employees, and other stakeholders.”

IndiGo Ventures and Sarvam to Advance AI Applications

Sarvam builds across training and inference infrastructure, frontier models and enterprise AI products. Its technology spans text, speech, vision and documents and is designed for secure deployment across complex, high-volume environments.

The investment from IndiGo Ventures comes as IndiGo and Sarvam continue their work on AI applications across multiple areas of the airline’s operations.

Pratyush Kumar, Co-founder, Sarvam, said: “Aviation is a powerful setting for enterprise AI because it combines millions of customer interactions with complex, time-sensitive operations.

IndiGo brings the domain depth and scale needed to identify where AI can create real value. Together, we can develop systems that are useful in production and build a stronger template for enterprise AI in India.”

The companies will continue to develop and evaluate applications across customer experience, employee productivity and airline operations.

Under the collaboration, successful use cases can be expanded across IndiGo’s network, further strengthening the role of Artificial Intelligence in the airline’s customer-facing and operational functions.

The IndiGo Ventures investment therefore builds on the companies’ existing collaboration and brings together IndiGo’s aviation expertise and scale with Sarvam’s full-stack AI capabilities.
