India Startup Funding Falls 10.53% to $151 Million in August 28–September 3 Week

Pune: India startup funding declined 10.53% week-on-week to approximately $150.6 million during the week of August 28 to September 3, 2026, compared with $168.3 million raised in the previous week, according to the Sahyadri Startups Weekly Funding Tracker.

The latest funding total was also 57.99% lower than the $358.6 million recorded during August 14–20.

The India startup funding tracker recorded 19 funding rounds during the current period, up from 15 rounds in the previous week and 17 rounds in the week before that.

Despite the higher number of rounds, the overall funding value declined compared with both previous periods.

The funding data covers equity rounds and technology companies.

India Startup Funding Sees $150.6 Million Raised Across 19 Rounds

The India startup funding landscape recorded total funding of $150.62 million between August 28 and September 3, 2026. This represents a 10.53% decline from the $168.34 million raised between August 21 and August 27.

Compared with the August 14–20 period, when Indian startups raised $358.56 million, the latest funding figure was down 57.99%.

The number of funding rounds, however, increased to 19 in the latest week from 15 in the previous week and 17 in the last-to-last week.

  • Early-Stage Funding Leads India Startup Funding Activity

Early-stage companies accounted for the largest share of India startup funding during the week, raising $70.82 million.

  • Late-stage funding stood at $60 million, while seed-stage companies raised $19.79 million.

In the previous week, early-stage companies had raised $64.38 million, late-stage companies raised $87.13 million and seed-stage companies raised $16.82 million.

For the August 14–20 period, late-stage funding stood at $311.6 million, while early-stage funding was $43.52 million and seed-stage funding was $3.45 million.

According to the tracker methodology, seed-stage funding includes Seed and Angel rounds. Early-stage funding includes Series A and Series B rounds, while late-stage funding includes Series C+, PE, Pre-IPO and unattributed rounds.

Ultrahuman Leads Top India Startup Funding Deals

  • Ultrahuman emerged as the biggest recipient in the latest India startup funding activity, raising $60 million in a Series C round.

The Bengaluru-based company develops wearable health monitors and metabolic glucose tracking devices.

The round was led by Qualcomm Ventures and included Alpha Wave Global, Steadview, Blume Venture, LabCorp, Ggm Family Trust, Nexus Venture Partners and Krypton among the institutional investors. Deepinder Goyal participated as an angel investor.

  • Yuma Energy ranked second among the top deals after raising $35 million in a Series A round.

The Bengaluru-based company provides battery-swapping infrastructure and services for electric vehicles. Magna was the lead investor.

  • Growwmf raised $20.72 million in a Series B round, with State Street Global Advisors listed among its institutional investors.
  • Pune-based Cradlewise raised $12 million in Series A funding, with 3one4 Capital as the lead investor.

The company manufactures smart bassinets and cribs with integrated monitoring technology.

Kepler Aerospace raised $8 million in a seed round, with Blue Ashva Capital, Finvolve and India Accelerator participating as lead investors.

Other notable India startup funding deals during the week included:

  • Zenergize — $4 million, Seed
  • Alteon — $2.5 million, Seed
  • YOGa Clean Air — $2.1 million, Series A
  • Leanwatts — $2 million, Seed
  • DocPharma — $2 million, Seed

Zenergize manufactures EV charging stations and solar power inverters, while Alteon is an aircraft manufacturer. YOGa Clean Air provides indoor air quality solutions and air purification technology.

Leanwatts operates in EV charging solutions, while DocPharma provides supply chain services for pharmaceutical distribution and diagnostic testing logistics.

Equentis Wealth Advisory Services, Info Edge Ventures Among Active Investors

The latest India startup funding activity also saw Equentis Wealth Advisory Services and Info Edge Ventures emerge as the most active venture capital investors, with two rounds each.

  • Equentis Wealth Advisory Services invested in Oorjaa and DocPharma, while Info Edge Ventures participated in YOGa Clean Air and Oppex.
  • Qualcomm Ventures recorded one round through its investment in Ultrahuman.

The tracker identified these investors based on the number of rounds during the August 28–September 3 period.

Two IPOs and One Acquisition Recorded

The latest week of India startup funding activity also included exits through public listings and an acquisition.

The tracker recorded two IPOs during the current period, compared with one IPO in the previous week and two IPOs during August 14–20.

Augmont and Tempsens Instruments went public during the week.

  • Augmont, founded in 1994 and headquartered in Mumbai, is an alternative investment platform focused on gold, including digital gold, silver and gold loans.
  • Tempsens Instruments, founded in 1976 and headquartered in Udaipur, specialises in thermal engineering solutions, including contact and non-contact temperature sensors, thermocouples, RTDs and thermowells.

The week also recorded one acquisition, compared with two acquisitions in the previous week and none in the August 14–20 period.

Alteons Energy, a Hyderabad-based renewable energy solutions company founded in 2024, was acquired by Sanmar Group on September 1, 2026. The acquisition price was undisclosed.

India Startup Funding Trend Over the Last 12 Months

The broader India startup funding trend shows significant month-to-month variation in funding activity.

According to the tracker, Indian startups raised:

  • October 2025: $1.38 billion across 173 rounds
  • November 2025: $801.9 million across 151 rounds
  • December 2025: $719.1 million across 160 rounds
  • January 2026: $1.26 billion across 185 rounds
  • February 2026: $1.15 billion across 169 rounds
  • March 2026: $2.09 billion across 192 rounds
  • April 2026: $647.4 million across 116 rounds
  • May 2026: $691.1 million across 96 rounds
  • June 2026: $1.47 billion across 112 rounds
  • July 2026: $1.21 billion across 109 rounds
  • August 2026: $967.6 million across 72 rounds
  • September 2026: $126.9 million across 13 rounds

The September figure reflects funding recorded up to September 3, 2026, covering the current reporting period.

Overall, the latest India startup funding tracker shows that 19 funding rounds were recorded during August 28–September 3, with Ultrahuman’s $60 million Series C round emerging as the largest transaction of the week.
