Delhi: Game Developers Association of India (GDAI) has announced the first cohort of 15 game studios selected for GDAI Supernova, its nationwide incubation programme aimed at supporting promising pre-revenue game studios and original game IPs.
The three-month programme is being conducted in partnership with Tencent, IVIPRO, SpielFabrique, Indus Appstore, Mintegral and Lakshya Digital.
The 15 studios were selected from more than 260 applications submitted by studios across India, highlighting the emerging game development talent and pipeline of original game IP being created by Indian studios.
GDAI Supernova, launched in July 2026, is designed to help pre-revenue studios transform promising game ideas and prototypes into commercially viable and globally competitive businesses.
Under GDAI Supernova, participating studios will receive customised mentorship, access to industry expertise, investor and publisher networks, industry credits, AI-led development support and opportunities to showcase their games at leading industry platforms.
The three-month programme is structured to provide support across both game development and business priorities.
GDAI Supernova is part of GDAI’s wider efforts to strengthen India’s game creation ecosystem by helping studios develop original intellectual property, build sustainable businesses and connect with global markets.
GDAI currently represents more than 200 member studios and has positioned the incubation programme alongside its broader initiatives covering talent development, global outreach, policy advocacy and industry development.

Rajan Navani, Board Member and Chairperson, GDAI Incubation Subcommittee, said, “The selection of this inaugural cohort marks the beginning of a focused journey for these 15 studios.
Over the next three months, Supernova will bring together mentors, technology partners, publishers and investors to help each studio address its specific development and business priorities.
We look forward to seeing the cohort translate this support into stronger games, clearer commercial pathways and compelling showcases at the Demo Day during IGDC.”
The inaugural GDAI Supernova cohort features a diverse mix of game studios and creators across genres and development stages.
The selection process assessed applicants based on the strength of their teams, originality and potential of their game concepts, entrepreneurial mindset, commitment to the programme, alignment with Supernova’s support offerings and evidence of market validation.
The distinguished jury that evaluated the applicants included industry leaders from the global gaming and interactive entertainment ecosystem.
