Mumbai: Reinforcing its commitment to the global clean energy transition, the Process Equipment division of Godrej Enterprises Group has delivered critical high-pressure exchangers to one of the world’s largest blue ammonia production facilities in the Middle East.

The delivery highlights Godrej’s advanced engineering capabilities and its strategic focus on supporting the decarbonization of global energy systems.

The equipment includes four high-pressure exchangers and one high-pressure separator, all constructed from low alloy steel metallurgy to withstand extreme temperatures and pressures.

Two of these exchangers weigh nearly 250 MT and span up to 26 meters in length, making them among the most sophisticated and large-scale components of their kind globally. Designed to optimize energy recovery and operational efficiency, these systems play a crucial role in sustainable ammonia production processes.

Blue Ammonia: A Key Pillar in Clean Energy Strategy

Blue ammonia is produced by combining hydrogen derived from natural gas with nitrogen, while capturing and storing the resulting carbon emissions.

It is emerging as a pivotal clean fuel for industrial and power generation applications, particularly in regions like the Middle East that are investing heavily in hydrogen and ammonia-based solutions.

Hussain Shariyarr, Executive Vice President & Business Head, Process Equipment, Godrej Enterprises, commented: “This project marks a significant milestone in our clean energy journey. Our delivery to a blue ammonia megaproject reflects our commitment to innovation, sustainability, and engineering excellence. We are proud to be part of global energy projects that push the boundaries of decarbonization.”

Expanding Global Footprint in Clean Energy

Godrej’s Process Equipment division has been steadily expanding its global clean energy footprint. In addition to its recent blue ammonia contribution, the business has previously supplied heat exchangers for one of the largest green hydrogen plants in the Middle East.

It is currently executing additional orders for blue hydrogen projects in the Americas, positioning itself as a key enabler in the global hydrogen and ammonia production supply chain.

This delivery further solidifies Godrej’s role in supporting the ‘Make in India for the World’ initiative by deploying Indian engineering expertise for high-impact international clean energy projects.
