Pune: Suzlon Group has strengthened its global leadership structure with the appointment of Paulo Soares as President – Europe, as part of its Suzlon 2.0 strategy aimed at accelerating international growth.
The leadership move underscores the company’s focus on expanding its footprint across key European wind energy markets.
Paulo Soares to Lead Suzlon’s Europe Business Expansion
In his new role, Paulo Soares will head Suzlon’s European operations with a mandate to build regional capabilities, forge strategic partnerships, enhance customer engagement, and expand market access across Europe.
His responsibilities will also include developing a strong organisational framework to support Suzlon’s long-term growth across European markets. Suzlon currently operates in 17 countries globally.

Four-Decade Wind Industry Experience Strengthens Leadership
With nearly four decades of experience in the global wind energy sector, Paulo Soares has played a pivotal role in building and scaling wind businesses across major markets including Germany, Brazil, China, and Spain.
He has held senior leadership roles across business development, sales, and operations with leading Western and Asian wind OEMs. Notably, he previously served Suzlon for five years, during which he played a key role in establishing the company’s Asian operations.
Commenting on the appointment, Girish Tanti, Vice Chairman, Suzlon Group, said that the company is pleased to welcome Paulo Soares back as Suzlon accelerates its global ambitions.
He highlighted Europe as one of the world’s largest wind energy markets and a strategic growth opportunity for the company, adding that Paulo’s deep understanding of wind technology, customer dynamics, and global market experience will significantly support Suzlon’s growth strategy.

Paulo Soares on Rejoining Suzlon
Expressing his views on the new role, Paulo Soares, President – Europe, Suzlon Group, said he is excited to rejoin Suzlon and collaborate with its global and Indian leadership teams.
He noted Suzlon’s early leadership in the wind energy industry and its role in advocating for wind energy within the global energy transition.
He further stated that Suzlon’s strong track record, reliable world-class technology, and international market experience would help expand its market share in Europe.
