New Delhi: Vedanta Limited, a global leader in critical minerals and energy, announced the achievement of 1.03 GW of round-the-clock (RTC) renewable energy capacity for FY25 through new power delivery agreements.

This development marks a significant step in the company’s plan to reach 2.5 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030, aligning with its long-term commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.

The newly secured clean energy capacity – spanning wind, solar, and pump storage technologies – is expected to offset over 6 million tonnes of carbon emissions annually, equivalent to the carbon absorption capacity of 350 million trees. This initiative reinforces Vedanta Limited’s leadership in driving India’s green transition.

“With over 4.5 million tonnes of annual production across aluminium, zinc, silver, and other critical minerals, Vedanta Limited is pivotal in enabling the renewable energy, EV, and technology ecosystems,” said Priya Agarwal Hebbar, Non-Executive Director, Vedanta Limited, and Chairperson, Hindustan Zinc Limited. “Our commitment to sustainability is integrated into our operations, product offerings, and community engagement efforts.”
