Mumbai: VIVIDHLAXI AUDYOGIK SAMSHODHAN VIKAS KENDRA (VASVIK) hosted its 51st Annual Industrial Research Awards at B. J. Hall, Vile Parle (West), Mumbai, recognising outstanding contributions by Indian scientists and researchers across diverse scientific and industrial domains.
Industrial research continues to play a critical role in driving technological advancement and innovation across sectors.
The VASVIK Annual Industrial Research Awards aim to acknowledge exceptional scientific excellence, celebrate industrial innovation, and honour individuals whose research has made a meaningful impact on society and the national economy.

VASVIK’s Legacy in Promoting Scientific Excellence
Established in 1973, VASVIK is a non-profit organisation dedicated to advancing science and technology in India. Over the past five decades, it has recognised more than 450 Indian scientists for extraordinary contributions that support industrial, technological, and economic progress. Awardees are selected for their innovative approaches, leadership, and direct impact on industrial growth.
For the 51st edition, VASVIK constituted seven independent advisory committees, each led by a chairman and supported by domain experts, to ensure a transparent and merit-driven selection of award recipients.
VASVIK Annual Industrial Research Awards Ceremony Highlights
The ceremony commenced with an address by Dr Mohan I Patel, Chairman of VASVIK, who welcomed the dignitaries and congratulated the awardees for their contributions across disciplines including agricultural sciences, biological sciences, chemical sciences, electrical sciences, environmental sciences, information and communication technology, material and metallurgical sciences, mechanical and structural sciences, and technology.
Professor M M Sharma, Chairman, VASVIK Board of Advisors, highlighted the credibility of the awards, noting that recipients are selected by highly respected scientists through an independent and merit-based process. He congratulated the awardees for their dedication and significant contributions to the country.

The award presentation was led by Dr. A. B. Pandit, Vice-Chancellor, Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT), Mumbai, who read out the citations.
