TDK Corporation Launches APAC Regional HQ in Bengaluru

TDK Corporation

Bengaluru: TDK Corporation (TSE: 6762) has announced the establishment of its Asia-Pacific Regional Headquarters (APAC RHQ) in Bengaluru, India, marking a significant strategic milestone for TDK Corporation as it deepens its presence in one of the world’s fastest-growing economic regions.

The APAC RHQ will become the company’s fifth regional headquarters globally, alongside Japan, Europe, the Americas, and China, reinforcing TDK Corporation’s long-term vision under its ‘TDK Transformation’ strategy.

Effective April 1, 2026, TDK Corporation will operate the APAC RHQ through a newly formed legal entity, TDK Asia-Pacific Pvt. Ltd., in collaboration with TDK Singapore Pte. Ltd.

The dual-city administrative structure – spanning Bengaluru and Singapore – will oversee more than 20 TDK entities across India, Southeast Asia, and Oceania. Collectively, these entities represent nearly 17 percent of TDK Corporation’s global workforce of 105,000 employees.

Dual-City Structure to Anchor Growth and Governance

The APAC RHQ structure introduced by TDK Corporation will balance expansion and governance responsibilities across two major regional hubs.

Bengaluru will serve as the growth anchor, leveraging India’s strong technology ecosystem, engineering talent base, and foundational research capabilities.

Singapore, meanwhile, will serve as the governance and compliance anchor, supporting supply chain resilience and regulatory coordination across Asia-Pacific.

According to TDK Corporation, this administrative model is designed to support “TDK Transformation” while strengthening market intelligence, government relations, workforce skilling, and disciplined process governance in the region.

Asia-Pacific continues to be a major growth driver globally. The region is home to nearly 40 percent of the world’s population and is projected by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to grow at 4.5 percent in 2025, contributing around 60 percent of incremental global output.

Within this region, India is projected to grow at 6.6 percent GDP in FY2025/26, maintaining its position as the fastest-growing major economy for the third consecutive year and emerging as the world’s fourth-largest economy after surpassing Japan in 2025.

TDK Corporation: Strengthening Long-Term Commitment to India

TDK Corporation has operated in India for several decades through its Electronics Components Business Company (ECBC) and Energy Solutions Business Company (ESBC), along with their subsidiaries.

The company maintains production facilities in West Bengal, Maharashtra, and Haryana and currently employs over 5,000 people in India.

“With the establishment of the Asia-Pacific RHQ, we are not simply expanding our footprint – we are strengthening the foundation for the future,” said Vaidyanathan Ramasarma, General Manager, APAC RHQ – TDK Corporation.

“This region holds immense potential in technology, talent, and market development. Our mission is to unlock that potential responsibly, collaboratively, and strategically.”

Through this expansion, TDK Corporation aims to enhance internal efficiencies, bolster supply chain resilience, and strengthen its regional R&D footprint.

The company emphasized that India’s scientific talent base, research orientation, and practical engineering capabilities make it a critical part of its global R&D vision.

Driving Global R&D and Regional Integration

The APAC RHQ will also play a strategic role in building TDK Corporation’s global research and development network. India’s engineering expertise, frugal innovation tradition, and improving business environment – including strong government support for foreign direct investment – have been cited as key enablers for the company’s regional consolidation strategy.
