Pune/Mumbai: NCC Maharashtra has launched a major youth skilling and employability initiative under the Prime Minister Internship Scheme (PMIS), aimed at connecting NCC Cadets and Ex-Cadets with industry opportunities, future-ready skills, and meaningful career pathways.

As part of the first phase of the initiative, NCC Maharashtra is organising dedicated placement camps in partnership with Lemon Tree Hotels, offering internship opportunities to eligible graduates from across the state.

Phase-I Placement Camps

  • Pune Camp
    • Venue: Lemon Tree Premier, City Center, Pune

    • Opportunities: 50
  • Mumbai Camp
    • Venue: Lemon Tree Premier, Mumbai

Together, the two placement camps will create 150 internship opportunities for eligible graduates, including NCC Senior Division and Senior Wing Cadets as well as Ex-Cadets.

Through this initiative, NCC Maharashtra aims to strengthen the link between education, skill development, and employment opportunities.

The internships will provide structured workplace exposure across key functional areas, including Human Resources, Sales, Front Office Operations, Finance, Food & Beverage Services, and Purchase & Stores.

The programme is designed to help participants acquire industry-relevant skills while gaining practical professional experience.

Selected candidates will receive monthly stipends under the Prime Minister Internship Scheme, along with structured mentoring, workplace learning, and career development opportunities throughout the internship period.

The initiative reflects the broader commitment of NCC Maharashtra to equip young people with skills required for a rapidly evolving job market.

The programme is being implemented through close collaboration among NCC Maharashtra, industry partners, educational institutions, and other stakeholders focused on youth empowerment and employment generation.

Recognising the importance of women’s participation in the workforce, facilitation measures are also being pursued for eligible girl cadets.

These include accommodation support and additional sustenance assistance in coordination with the Government of Maharashtra, subject to applicable approvals and guidelines.

In addition to internship opportunities, NCC Maharashtra is actively developing programmes aimed at building future-ready capabilities among cadets through structured training in:

  • Drone Pilot Training and Certification
  • Cyber Defender and Cyber Security Programmes
  • Disaster Management and Emergency Response
  • Civil Defence and Community Resilience

As part of its long-term strategy, NCC Maharashtra is also engaging with corporate partners across multiple sectors, including technology, manufacturing, logistics, financial services, hospitality, and emerging industries, to create a sustained pipeline of internship and employment opportunities for youth.

The initiative aligns with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for youth empowerment through skilling, employability, and entrepreneurship.

It also reflects the commitment of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis toward expanding opportunities for the youth of Maharashtra.

Currently, NCC Maharashtra engages approximately 1.5 lakh cadets across more than 2,000 educational institutions covering all 36 districts of the state.

The organisation provides a unique platform that combines leadership development with career readiness and economic participation.

Eligible NCC Cadets and Ex-Cadets have been advised to contact their nearest NCC Unit for registration and participation in the placement camps.

Additional Director General, NCC Maharashtra: “NCC has always been a platform for developing disciplined, responsible and capable young citizens. Today, we are expanding that vision further by connecting leadership development with employability, entrepreneurship and future-ready skills.

Through internships, drone training, cyber security programmes, disaster management initiatives and industry partnerships, we aim to ensure that every NCC cadet is prepared not only to serve the nation but also to succeed in a rapidly evolving professional environment. The Pune and Mumbai placement camps represent the beginning of a larger journey towards creating meaningful pathways from education to employment.”
