Guwahati: Green Orchid Group, a Guwahati-based business group with interests spanning real estate, land development, planning, logistics, earth-moving and agriculture, is developing its flagship Green Orchid Township, a 500-acre integrated township near Guwahati Airport.
Located at Barkuchi along NH-37, the Green Orchid Group township is planned as a multi-phase development combining residential communities with commercial, hospitality, healthcare, education, recreation and lifestyle infrastructure.
The project has an estimated development potential of approximately 22 million sq. ft. of built-up area and an indicative Gross Development Value (GDV) of approximately ₹18,000 crore at current rates.
The figure remains subject to future developments, market conditions and the eventual mix of projects.
Green Orchid Township Location Near Guwahati Airport
The Green Orchid Group project is located approximately 6 km, or around 10 minutes, from Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport.
The township is positioned within the developing airport growth corridor of western Guwahati.
The location provides connectivity towards Guwahati Airport through NH-37, Dharapur and Airport Road, as well as access towards Palashbari and Sualkuchi.
The township is also located close to Northeast IT Park, IIIT Guwahati, Cotton University State Campus and Mirza Railway Station.
The location is planned to support the development of Green Orchid Township as an integrated urban community combining residential, commercial and social infrastructure.
Green Orchid Township Master Plan
The Green Orchid Group has planned Green Orchid Township around the concept of combining modern urban infrastructure with natural surroundings.
The larger master plan includes residential neighbourhoods along with proposed green and open spaces and a 50-foot-wide natural river stream.
Planned amenities at Green Orchid Township include a clubhouse, gymnasium, swimming pool, wellness and sports facilities, landscaped gardens and hospitality facilities.
The proposed development also includes a golf course, race course, restaurants, schools, healthcare facilities, retail and commercial spaces, office and technology spaces, malls and entertainment facilities.
Sustainability Focus
Sustainability is positioned as a central component of the Green Orchid Group township’s development philosophy.
The proposed sustainability features include natural green spaces, preservation of natural landscapes and natural water features.
The plan also includes rainwater harvesting, water-efficient landscaping, water recycling, waste management and recycling, energy-efficient infrastructure and proposed renewable-energy integration.
Through these planned features, Green Orchid Township is being developed with a focus on integrating urban infrastructure with natural surroundings.
Green Orchid Group’s Real Estate Journey
The Green Orchid Group’s real estate journey has evolved from land development and plotted projects to villa projects and a larger vision of integrated township development.
The Group’s earlier plotting developments have already attracted more than 1,000 customers.
