Chennai: IPO-bound Garuda Aerospace, one of India’s leading drone manufacturers, has deployed Sanjeevani logistics drones in Nepal to support ongoing flood relief and emergency response operations in the Rasuwa district, where severe flooding has caused widespread infrastructure damage and disrupted road connectivity, telecommunications networks and critical supply chains.

The deployment of Sanjeevani logistics drones is aimed at strengthening relief operations in flood-affected areas by enabling rapid aerial assessment, supporting emergency response teams and improving access to regions where conventional rescue and relief operations remain challenging.

As part of the relief effort, Garuda Aerospace is deploying its Sanjeevani logistics drones, which are capable of carrying up to 25 kg, to enable point-to-point delivery of essential supplies.

The Sanjeevani logistics drones will support the delivery of food, medicines and water to flood-affected and isolated communities in areas that are difficult to reach through conventional transportation.

To support sustained relief operations in the challenging mountainous terrain, Garuda Aerospace is also providing battery systems, communication and ground-support equipment, along with certified drone pilots based on operational requirements.

The support is intended to enable relief teams to respond more efficiently and reach areas that remain difficult to access through conventional modes of transport.

Agnishwar Jayaprakash, Founder and CEO, Garuda Aerospace, said, “At Garuda Aerospace, we have always stepped forward to support communities during times of crisis and have been at the forefront of disaster relief efforts.

We are honoured to support Nepal and contribute to the ongoing relief efforts. In difficult times, every effort counts, and we hope our drones and teams can help ensure essential supplies reach people in need, especially in areas that are difficult to access.”

Garuda Aerospace’s Drone-Based Disaster Relief Experience

Garuda Aerospace has supported ISRO-linked emergency medical supply operations using its White Knight drones, as well as relief efforts during the Chamoli glacier burst in Uttarakhand, floods in Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh and Chennai, locust-control operations in Rajasthan, and operations with the Indian Army in Jammu and Kashmir.

During the pandemic, Garuda pilots and drones were airlifted on a chartered Air India aircraft to provide essential emergency services across India.

Garuda Aerospace has also deployed logistics drones for medicine and food deliveries at ISRO’s Sriharikota facility.

Alongside these logistics operations, the company has used loudspeaker-equipped surveillance drones to support rescue operations across the country.

In 2024, Garuda drones delivered food, water and medicines to rain-affected and inaccessible areas in Chennai.

The deployment of Sanjeevani logistics drones in Nepal further adds to Garuda Aerospace’s disaster-response operations, with the drones being used to support relief efforts in challenging and hard-to-reach environments.

The company’s deployment in Rasuwa is focused on enabling point-to-point delivery of essential supplies while supporting emergency response teams operating in areas affected by severe flooding and disrupted connectivity.
