Builders Association of India Names Jagannath Jadhav as Maharashtra State President for 2025-26

Pune: The Builders Association of India (BAI), one of the oldest and most influential associations representing India’s construction sector, has announced its new office bearers for the 2025–26 term.

Jagannath Jadhav has been elected as the Maharashtra State President, while Ajay Gujar has been appointed as the President of BAI’s Pune Centre, the founding chapter of the association.

The appointments were formalized at BAI’s recently held Annual General Meeting, which also saw the induction of new leaders at both the state and regional levels.

Key Leadership Roles for 2025–26

  • Manoj Deshmukh – State Secretary
  • Rajendra Gandhi – State Treasurer
  • Mahesh Maydev and Rajaram Hajare – Vice Presidents, Pune Centre
  • C H Ratlani – Secretary, Pune Centre
  • Mahesh Rathi – Treasurer, Pune Centre

Representatives have also been elected to Builders Association of India’s Managing Committee and General Council, who will represent Pune at the national level. Outgoing Pune Centre President Sunil Mate handed over the reins to Ajay Gujar, marking a smooth leadership transition.

Driving Sector Development and Member Advocacy

Ajay Gujar expressed gratitude upon taking charge, stating: “It’s an honour to lead the Pune Centre, the birthplace of the Builders Association of India. In the coming year, we will roll out impactful initiatives including technical seminars, student training camps, and the Well-Built Structure Competition to strengthen the construction ecosystem.”

Meanwhile, State President Jagannath Jadhav has committed to aggressively pursuing the release of long-pending payments to government contractors across Maharashtra.

“Contractors are facing severe cash flow challenges, with nearly ₹90,000 crore in unpaid dues pending. We are in constant communication with the Chief Minister’s Office and the Public Works Department to expedite resolution,” Jadhav noted.
