Bengaluru: Ultraviolette Automotive has launched Battery Flex, a new Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) initiative that aims to make high-performance electric mobility more accessible.
With the introduction of Battery Flex, customers can now own the Ultraviolette X-47 Crossover starting at just ₹1,49,000, reducing the upfront cost of ownership by nearly 40 percent.
The Battery Flex model allows customers to purchase the motorcycle chassis separately while subscribing to the battery pack through a monthly plan starting at ₹2,499.
The battery subscription also comes with a five-year warranty, offering riders a structured and flexible ownership model.
Battery Flex Introduced in Partnership with Ecofy
The Battery Flex programme has been introduced in partnership with Ecofy, India’s green-only NBFC focused on accelerating climate-positive adoption through specialised financing.
Through this collaboration, Battery Flex aims to expand access to advanced electric mobility while enabling more consumers to adopt sustainable transportation solutions.
By separating battery ownership from the vehicle purchase, the Battery Flex model lowers the barrier to entry for electric two-wheelers and enhances affordability for riders across India.

Lower Upfront Costs
Under the Battery Flex initiative, customers can purchase the Ultraviolette X-47 Crossover chassis at a significantly reduced upfront price of ₹1,49,000, while subscribing to the battery pack through a monthly payment structure starting at ₹2,499.
This approach allows customers to spread the cost of the battery over time instead of paying for it upfront. At the end of the subscription period, battery ownership is transferred to the customer at no additional cost.
According to the company, the Battery Flex initiative is designed to offer greater financial flexibility while ensuring access to cutting-edge electric mobility technology.
Ultraviolette on Redefining Electric Motorcycle Affordability
Narayan Subramaniam, CEO and Co-founder at Ultraviolette, said: “At ₹2.5 lakh, Ultraviolette was at price parity with similarly powered ICE motorcycles. Now, with a starting price of ₹1.5 lakh, riders gain access to better technology, features, and performance that outpaces every segment.
With operating costs as low as ₹2499 per month, which is lesser than the average spends on petrol, we are redefining what affordability means in motorcycling. The introduction of Battery Flex makes performance, technology-driven mobility more attainable and practical for riders across India, while keeping the focus firmly on what matters most: the thrill of riding an Ultraviolette.”
The company stated that Battery Flex significantly reduces the initial investment required to own the Ultraviolette X-47 Crossover, making performance electric motorcycles more accessible to a wider audience.
