MDI Gurgaon Launches Centre for Financial Services to Support Viksit Bharat 2047 Vision

Gurgaon: MDI Gurgaon, one of India’s premier management institutes, hosted a high-level national symposium on “Fully Banked, Insured, and Pensioned Society for a Viksit Bharat 2047: Future Road Map” on its campus.

The event also marked the official launch of the Centre for Financial Services, a strategic initiative aimed at strengthening India’s financial ecosystem through research, innovation, and stakeholder collaboration.

The day-long symposium brought together top policymakers, regulators, financial leaders, and academic experts to chart a forward-thinking roadmap toward a financially inclusive and developed India by 2047.

“MDI Gurgaon is proud to play a vital role in India’s financial transformation,” said Prof Arvind Sahay, Director, MDI Gurgaon. “The Centre for Financial Services will be instrumental in driving thought leadership and innovation in banking, insurance, pensions, and fintech—critical pillars for achieving Viksit Bharat.”

Both speakers emphasized the role of digital innovation, financial literacy, and policy reform in shaping a modern and inclusive financial architecture.

Launch of Centre for Financial Services at MDI Gurgaon

The Centre for Financial Services was inaugurated by M Nagaraju, I.A.S., Secretary, Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance. The centre will focus on:

  • Research and policy innovation
  • Capacity building and executive education
  • Collaborative initiatives with industry and government

“Institutions like MDI Gurgaon are key to aligning India’s financial systems with global best practices. This Centre will strengthen our national goals of inclusion and resilience,” said Nagaraju during his address.

The symposium concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof Imlak Shaikh, Chairperson, School of Management of Financial Institutions (SoMFI), followed by high tea and networking.
