Navi Mumbai: Thermax has launched the Thermax-i series, a new range of intelligent boilers and heaters designed to continuously optimise performance in response to changing operating conditions.
The company unveiled the series at Boiler India 2026 in Navi Mumbai.
The Thermax-i series is designed to enable heating equipment to anticipate changing operating conditions and automatically optimise performance. The first product introduced under the series is UltraPac-i, an intelligent biomass-fired boiler.
According to Thermax, UltraPac-i anticipates variations in fuel characteristics, ambient conditions and process demand, and automatically takes corrective action in real time.
The approach is aimed at improving boiler efficiency by shifting from a reactive operating model to a proactive one.
UltraPac-i is powered by EDGE Control, Thermax’s proprietary physics-enhanced, data-driven control technology. The company describes the product as a global industry-first innovation.
Pilot installations of UltraPac-i have demonstrated fuel savings of up to 10%, according to Thermax. The savings could help industries reduce operating costs and associated carbon emissions.
The Thermax-i series is being introduced with boilers and heaters, with Thermax stating that it will progressively extend the intelligent capabilities across its wider portfolio.
UltraPac-i to Be Displayed at Boiler India 2026
UltraPac-i will be displayed at the Thermax booth throughout Boiler India 2026. The exhibition is being held from October 8 to 10 at the CIDCO Exhibition Centre in Navi Mumbai.
The Thermax-i series is being showcased as part of Thermax’s efforts to combine its expertise in combustion and boilers with advanced analytics and intelligent control.
EDGE Control Retrofit Solution
In addition to being integrated into new equipment, EDGE Control can also be offered as a retrofit solution for suitable existing boilers and other equipment.
The retrofit option enables customers to bring intelligent control and optimisation capabilities to their existing assets without replacing the equipment.
The Thermax-i series therefore includes intelligent capabilities that can be applied to both new equipment and, through EDGE Control, suitable existing assets.
Thermax Highlights Intelligent Heating Technology
Ashish Bhandari, Managing Director & CEO, Thermax Limited, said, “For six decades, Thermax has worked to improve how industries generate and use heat. Our intelligent series of boilers represents the next evolution of that journey, combining our understanding of combustion and boilers with advanced analytics and intelligent control.
The ability of a boiler to anticipate changing conditions and optimise itself can create significant value, particularly with fuels such as biomass. It is a revolutionary breakthrough and an exciting step forward for Thermax and our customers. We are starting Thermax-i series with boilers and heaters and will progressively extend these intelligent capabilities across our wider portfolio.”
