New Delhi: Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) will hand over Dhruv Next Generation (NG) helicopters to Pawan Hans Limited (PHL), along with Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas Final Operational Clearance (FOC) Twin Seater Trainers and HTT 40 Basic Trainer Aircraft to the Indian Air Force (IAF), at an event in Bengaluru, Karnataka, on September 18, 2026.
The handover of the Dhruv NG helicopters to Pawan Hans will take place in the presence of Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh and Minister of Civil Aviation K Rammohan Naidu.
The event will highlight the role of HAL and its industry partners in strengthening India’s domestic aerospace ecosystem.
The handover of the platforms to the IAF and Pawan Hans Limited also demonstrates the expanding capability of the Indian aerospace industry to design, develop and manufacture advanced platforms for both civil and military applications.

Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, Secretary (Defence Production) Sanjeev Kumar, Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation Samir Kumar Sinha, CMD, HAL Ravi K, and other senior officials from the Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Civil Aviation, IAF, PHL, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders from the aerospace and defence sectors will be present at the occasion.
The Government has accorded high priority to promoting indigenous design, development and manufacturing in the aerospace and defence sectors.
The induction of these platforms, including the Dhruv NG helicopters for Pawan Hans, is another step towards strengthening indigenous capabilities and reducing dependence on foreign sources.
The event is expected to underscore the contribution of HAL and its industry partners to India’s self-reliance journey, while showcasing the country’s growing capabilities in developing and manufacturing aerospace platforms for civil and military applications.
