AI 1000: LTM Launches Strategic Initiative to Build Next Generation of Forward Deployed Engineers

AI 1000

Bengaluru: AI 1000, the latest workforce transformation initiative from LTM, aims to develop more than 1,000 AI-certified engineers through a dedicated Center of Excellence (CoE), helping enterprises accelerate the adoption, deployment, and scaling of artificial intelligence solutions.

Announced by LTM, the Business Creativity partner to the world’s largest enterprises, AI 1000 is designed to create a talent pool that includes Forward Deployed Engineers (FDEs), professionals who combine expertise in Large Language Models (LLMs), domain-specific Small Language Models (SLMs), and business knowledge to translate AI concepts into measurable business outcomes and drive client adoption.

The launch comes at a time when enterprise technology talent requirements are undergoing significant transformation. As one of the fastest-growing roles in the AI ecosystem, Forward Deployed Engineers bridge technical capabilities with business understanding to generate quantifiable return on investment.

AI 1000 serves as LTM’s structured response to this evolution by providing training, technology platforms, and governed career frameworks to develop FDEs at scale.

The AI 1000 initiative follows an end-to-end four-stage talent development model comprising Identify, Enable, Deploy, and Govern.

The process begins by identifying high-potential engineers through a proprietary AI Readiness Index.

Selected candidates then undergo curated learning journeys focused on AI-native skills while validating their capabilities through hackathons and practical use cases before being deployed into AI programs.

A governance framework continuously monitors performance, captures insights, and integrates learnings back into the system, creating an ongoing cycle of capability enhancement and professional growth.

The Center of Excellence is supported by an integrated platform ecosystem designed to govern delivery with transparency, speed, and adaptability, enabling Forward Deployed Engineers to achieve and measure business impact for clients more effectively.

“The role of the technology engineer is evolving rapidly. AI 1000 is built with the purpose of enhancing workforce productivity in creating tangible business outcomes.

Through the AI 1000 CoE, we are building structured pathways to develop the combination of technical excellence and domain expertise to enable this purpose – and prepare our talent for the future,” said Venu Lambu, CEO and Managing Director, LTM.

LTM has already established a substantial foundation for AI adoption, recording more than 6.5 million learning hours, nearly 84% learning penetration, over 15,000 external AI certifications, and more than 24,000 AI-trained associates.

AI 1000 formalizes these achievements into a structured, evidence-based program featuring defined role pathways, measurable milestones, and a governed deployment framework.

According to the company, the success of AI 1000 will ultimately be measured not by the number of employees trained but by the tangible outcomes and business value delivered by the engineers participating in the program.
