Mumbai/Hong Kong: Mahindra and Manulife have taken a significant step forward in establishing their life insurance joint venture, with the incorporation of Mahindra Manulife Insurance Limited (MMIL) following approval from the Ministry of Corporate Affairs.

The development marks the next milestone in the partnership announced by the two companies on November 12, 2025, to create a new life insurance business in India.

The newly incorporated entity, Mahindra Manulife Insurance Limited, will operate as a 50:50 joint venture between Mahindra and Manulife.

The formation of the company follows the necessary regulatory approval from the Ministry of Corporate Affairs and advances the partners’ plans to build a customer-focused, digitally led life insurance business.

Mahindra Manulife Insurance aims to combine Mahindra’s strong presence and reach across India with Manulife’s global expertise in insurance.

The joint venture intends to create a simple, customer-first, AI-native, and technology-driven life insurer that leverages digital capabilities to serve customers effectively.

The partnership brings together Mahindra’s extensive market reach and Manulife’s capabilities in product innovation, underwriting, and agency-led distribution.

Through this combination of strengths, Mahindra Manulife Insurance plans to focus on policyholder protection while offering holistic and needs-based financial solutions to customers.
