Bengaluru: Rajsekhar Datta Roy has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Sonata Software Limited, marking a significant leadership transition for the company.
Rajsekhar Datta Roy will assume the role effective May 9, 2026, for a tenure of three years, during which he will lead the international business of the organization.
Sonata Software Limited [NSE: SONATSOFTW, BSE: 532221], an AI-first modernization engineering company, announced that Rajsekhar Datta Roy will take over as CEO following the completion of the current leadership term.

With over three decades of experience, Rajsekhar Datta Roy has played a pivotal role in scaling technology practices and leading global delivery organizations for large enterprise clients.
During his tenure at Sonata Software, Rajsekhar Datta Roy significantly contributed to expanding the company’s Dynamics and Microsoft practices into some of its largest industry-focused offerings, while also driving strategy, delivery, and go-to-market initiatives.
Over the years, Rajsekhar Datta Roy has led key delivery portfolios spanning product engineering, enterprise systems deployment, and large-scale digital transformation programs.
In the past year, Rajsekhar Datta Roy has been instrumental in advancing Sonata Software’s transformation into an AI-first organization.
His leadership has also been central to initiatives around the company’s Responsible-first AI approach and the development of Sonata Harmoni.AI.
Additionally, Rajsekhar Datta Roy has played a crucial role in improving operational margins over recent quarters through focused execution and technology-led efficiencies.
Prior to this appointment, Rajsekhar Datta Roy served as Chief Delivery Officer and was a key member of Sonata Software’s executive leadership team, overseeing global delivery, operations, and the company’s AI-first delivery transformation.
As part of the leadership transition, the Board of Directors announced that Samir Dhir will cease to serve as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer upon the completion of his term on May 8, 2026. He has also stepped down from his role as Executive Director, effective the close of business on the same date.
To ensure continuity, Samir Dhir will continue to support Sonata Software as an Advisor to the Board of Directors until December 31, 2026.
The Board acknowledged his contributions, noting that under his leadership, the company strengthened its position as a trusted strategic partner and advanced into its next phase of growth.
