Pune: The IETE West Zone conference concluded recently in Pune, highlighting the importance of academic–industry–research collaboration in advancing innovation in aerospace electronics.
Organized by The Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE), West Zone, in association with The Bhaskaracharya Institute for Space Applications and Geo-Informatics (BISAG-N), the IETE West Zone Seminar and ISF Congress brought together experts from academia, research institutions, industry, banking, and defence sectors.
The conference focused on strengthening partnerships that accelerate technological development in aerospace engineering and electronics.

IETE West Zone Focuses on Trends and Innovation in Aerospace Engineering
The seminar was conducted on the theme “Trends and Innovation in Aerospace Engineering” and featured participation from leading experts across academia, research organizations, industry, banking, and defence.
Discussions centered on emerging trends and research advancements in aerospace electronics.
The inaugural session was attended by Shri Sunil, President, IETE; Dr R D Kharadkar, Vice President, IETE and West Zone Mentor; Prof Dr Dhaval Pujara, Provost, Adani University; Preeti Agarwal, Chairperson, IETE Ahmedabad Centre; Nilesh Desai, Director, SAC–ISRO; Asheesh Pandey, Managing Director, Union Bank of India; and Ashish Rajvanshi, CEO, Adani Defence and Aerospace.
Addressing the gathering, Nilesh Desai and Ashish Rajvanshi highlighted recent research and innovations in aerospace engineering.

Dr R D Kharadkar emphasized the growing applications of aerospace engineering in drones, spacecraft, and aircraft, underlining the importance of interdisciplinary skills.
Shri Sunil spoke about the importance of communication and broadcast engineering in aerospace applications, while Asheesh Pandey discussed engineering-driven innovations in the financial sector.
The seminar included expert lectures and technical discussions on next-generation avionics systems, satellite technologies, navigation and communication electronics, and indigenous aerospace development.
The organizers acknowledged the efforts of Dr Preeti Agarwal for her significant contribution to the successful organization of the seminar.
