Mumbai: Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., has unveiled the New Mahindra Thar, priced from ₹9.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
The latest version of the iconic SUV introduces a refreshed design, enhanced comfort features, and smart connectivity, further strengthening its position as one of India’s most popular lifestyle vehicles.
Iconic SUV with Refreshed Design
The New Mahindra Thar carries forward its legacy with design upgrades including a distinct front grille, dual-tone bumper, new steering wheel, and an all-black dashboard theme.
It is available in six color options, with Tango Red and Battleship Grey being new additions, enhancing its stylish appeal.
New Mahindra Thar: Enhanced Comfort and Daily Convenience
Focusing on everyday usability, the New Mahindra Thar is equipped with rear AC vents, sliding armrest, door-mounted power windows, rear-view camera, rear wash and wiper, and an internally operated fuel lid.
These upgrades are designed to provide improved comfort for both driver and passengers during city commutes and off-road journeys.
New Mahindra Thar: Smart Connectivity and Advanced Features
The SUV now features a 26.03 cm HD touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration.
Type-C USB ports at the front and rear ensure seamless device charging, while the Adventure Stats Gen II offers detailed off-road data such as racing tab, altimeter, trip meter, and tyre direction monitoring system, enhancing safety and adventure experiences.

New Mahindra Thar: Engine Options and Variants
The New Mahindra Thar is available in petrol and diesel options:
- 2.0 mStallion Petrol – 112 kW power, 300–320 Nm torque
- 2.2L mHawk Diesel – 97 kW power, 300 Nm torque
- D117 CRDe Diesel – 87.2 kW power, 300 Nm torque
Buyers can choose between a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission, with RWD and 4X4 configurations.
Ex-showroom prices for the New Mahindra Thar start at ₹9.99 lakh for the base variant and go up to ₹16.99 lakh for the top-end model.
