New Delhi: The Ministry of Education, in collaboration with the Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog, has officially launched the Viksit Bharat Buildathon 2025, India’s largest student innovation initiative.
The nationwide program invites participation from school students of Classes 6–12, marking a significant step towards the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.
Viksit Bharat Buildathon 2025 to Empower Young Innovators
The Viksit Bharat Buildathon 2025 encourages students to form teams, think creatively, and design ideas and prototypes that address real-life challenges.

The movement focuses on four key national themes:
- Atmanirbhar Bharat – advancing self-reliant systems and solutions
- Swadeshi – promoting indigenous innovation
- Vocal for Local – supporting local products, crafts, and resources
- Samriddhi – driving prosperity and sustainable development
By aligning with these themes, the Buildathon seeks to channel the creativity of young minds into impactful innovation.
National Platform for Creativity and Recognition
The Ministry of Education has positioned the Viksit Bharat Buildathon 2025 as more than a competition – it is a national platform for creativity, innovation, and problem-solving skills. Students, teachers, and schools across India are being urged to participate actively.
Schools will submit entries in the form of photos and videos, which will be evaluated by a national panel of experts. The top student teams will be awarded prizes and provided with long-term support, including mentorship, corporate adoption, and access to resources to advance their innovations.
