Vanderlande Launches India Innovation Centre in Pune to Boost Automation R&D

Pune: Vanderlande, a global leader in logistics process automation, has opened its India Innovation Centre (IIC) in Pune, reinforcing its commitment to India’s engineering and technology talent ecosystem.

The collaboration-led facility reflects the company’s guiding principle of keeping customers at the heart of innovation while enabling engineers to co-create, test, and develop end-to-end automation solutions for global markets.

Designed as a platform for engineering excellence, the Centre will drive innovation across robotic automation, autonomous systems, artificial intelligence, and digital-physical integration for Vanderlande’s global customer base in warehousing, airports, and parcel sectors.

The launch of the India Innovation Centre represents an important milestone in Vanderlande’s India journey as a Global Capability Centre (GCC).

With the addition of the new facility, the GCC further strengthens its position as Vanderlande’s second-largest technology hub worldwide, after the Netherlands.

The initiative highlights the company’s long-term commitment to nurturing talent, expanding high-value engineering roles, and accelerating innovation from India.

Vanderlande India Innovation Centre Marks Milestone in Global Capability Expansion

Located in Pune and spread across two acres, the India Innovation Centre brings global collaboration, research and development, and system testing into a single integrated environment.

The facility combines training, testing, and end-to-end ownership of Vanderlande’s market-leading systems, enabling teams to collaborate more closely across the full engineering lifecycle.

The Centre is designed to empower employees to work on real-world applications, strengthen technical expertise, and contribute directly to automation solutions for customers worldwide.

Over the years, Vanderlande India has grown from a small support office into a 1,300+ member Global Capability Centre spanning R&D, software development, core engineering disciplines, and shared services.

The inauguration of the India Innovation Centre represents the next phase of this evolution — moving from execution to innovation and advancing the company’s “Everyday Better” journey.
