Sovereign Cloud in India Gets Boost with TCS C-DAC Collaboration

Mumbai: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) (BSE: 532540, NSE: TCS) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) to strengthen the foundation of sovereign cloud in India.

The collaboration aims to accelerate research and development of indigenous technologies that deliver secure, scalable, and AI-driven cloud platforms tailored for national priorities.

Focus on Research and Innovation for Sovereign Cloud in India

Under this MoU, C-DAC, a premier R&D institution under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), will integrate indigenous innovations into TCS’ sovereign cloud stack.

This strategic partnership will enable the compliant and secure hosting of critical government applications, including e-Sanjeevani, Dial 112, and workloads from central ministries.

It further supports India’s push for sovereign cloud in India to reduce reliance on foreign hyperscalers while meeting stringent data protection and localization requirements.

Driving Digital Transformation Across Key Sectors

The collaboration between TCS and C-DAC is expected to strengthen public sector digital transformation across healthcare, defence, smart cities, and BFSI by enhancing compliance, performance, and security. The initiative aligns with India’s long-term vision of building a resilient and future-ready digital infrastructure powered by OpenStack and indigenous cloud technologies.
