QuantrolOx Launches VIDYAQAR, a Scalable Open-Architecture Quantum System

VIDYAQAR

Bengaluru: QuantrolOx has announced the launch of VIDYAQAR, marking a significant development in quantum technology with the introduction of the true open-architecture quantum platform tailored for education, research, testing, and benchmarking.

Unveiled in India, the platform is scheduled for global availability in the first half of 2026. The name VIDYAQAR is derived from the Sanskrit term Vidyākar, meaning one that imparts wisdom or knowledge.

The nomenclature reflects the platform’s objective of democratizing access to advanced quantum hardware while enabling faster innovation across academic, government, and industrial ecosystems.

VIDYAQAR Enables a Complete Open-Architecture Quantum System

The vidyaqar platform is a fully connected superconducting quantum system that integrates cryogenics, control electronics, a Quantum Processing Unit (QPU), and the integrated Quantum EDGE software stack.

Built on a true open-architecture design, the system offers transparency, flexibility, and modularity across all layers.

Designed for organisations entering the quantum domain, vidyaqar allows teams to begin experiments from day one, customise system components without architectural constraints, and scale quantum infrastructure in line with evolving requirements.

Critical Quantum Ecosystem Need

A robust quantum ecosystem depends on open testbeds that enable prototyping, validation, and benchmarking of hardware, software, and control techniques.

VIDYAQAR fills this gap by supporting institutional and national quantum strategies through rapid experimentation, cross-sector collaboration, and development of standards and interoperability frameworks.

The platform is based on QuantrolOx’s existing open-architecture quantum computer in Delft, which operates with multiple QPUs, electronics stacks, and cryogenic configurations.

VIDYAQAR Built for Education and Advanced Research

Beyond research applications, vidyaqar is designed as a comprehensive learning environment for developing quantum talent.

The platform includes the Quantum EDGE Academy for training in superconducting quantum hardware, a Python SDK for full programmability, built-in automation for system bring-up and calibration, and modular scalability that supports expansion from single installations to centrally orchestrated quantum systems.
