Pune-based VFX studio philmCGI has emerged as one of the standout names in India’s visual effects industry after delivering more than 1000 VFX shots for Dhurandhar and Dhurandhar: The Revenge.

Recognised for its story-first visual storytelling approach, philmCGI continues to strengthen its reputation as a leading animation and VFX studio with multiple award wins during the 2026 awards season.

A TPN Gold-certified company, philmCGI has contributed to several acclaimed projects including Jigra, CTRL, Qala, Stranger Things, Sacred Games, Pathaan, Kalki, Jubilee, and the Oscar-nominated Homebound.

Through its work across films and OTT productions, philmCGI has consistently focused on delivering seamless visual experiences that enhance storytelling without overpowering the narrative.

The studio’s creative achievements translated into significant industry recognition this year. philmCGI won Best VFX at the Zee Cine Awards 2026 and secured Best Special Effects at the Screen Awards 2026.

The studio also received recognition at the prestigious VAM Awards, reinforcing its position as a leading force in cinematic visual effects.

In addition, philmCGI’s work on Jubilee earned the Filmfare OTT Award for Best VFX (Series), while Delhi Safari received the National Award for Best Animated Film.

For Dhurandhar and Dhurandhar: The Revenge, philmCGI collaborated closely with B62 Studio’s core creative team from the conceptual stage to final delivery.

The studio adopted a story-first philosophy, ensuring that the visual effects remained subtle and invisible while supporting the authenticity and continuity of the narrative.

Instead of relying on spectacle-driven effects, philmCGI focused on believable integrations that blended seamlessly into the live-action storytelling.

The studio prioritised realism and precision throughout the production process.

One of the most notable examples from the project was the ‘Lyari Set’, where scale and environmental texture played a crucial role in storytelling. philmCGI extended and enhanced the environment through advanced world-building, set augmentation, and refined compositing techniques.

The studio created a dense and lived-in visual setting designed to feel authentic on screen while remaining imperceptible to audiences.

Much of the work required frame-level precision to align perfectly with live-action plates, ensuring visual continuity and realism across scenes.

As the studio continues to expand its technological and creative capabilities, the Pune-based studio remains focused on delivering seamless, story-driven visual experiences for audiences across India and global markets.

Through its growing portfolio of award-winning projects, philmCGI continues to shape the future of cinematic storytelling in the visual effects industry.
