New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a high-level roundtable with CEOs of AI and deeptech startups at Seva Teerth earlier today, underscoring the rapid growth and global relevance of the India AI ecosystem.
The interaction brought together founders and innovators from 16 cutting-edge startups working across healthcare, agriculture, cybersecurity, space, and social empowerment, reflecting the expanding footprint of the India AI Ecosystem in driving population-scale impact.
The CEOs and founders presented their ideas and work, highlighting how the India AI Ecosystem is addressing critical challenges through advanced technologies.
In healthcare, startups are deploying artificial intelligence for advanced diagnostics, gene therapy, and efficient patient record management to extend quality care to the last mile.
In agriculture, innovators are leveraging geospatial and underwater intelligence to enhance productivity and manage climate risks – further strengthening the India AI Ecosystem as a transformative force in rural and climate-sensitive sectors.

The participating ventures also included companies focused on cybersecurity, ethical AI, space technologies, and social empowerment through vernacular access to justice and education.
Several startups are modernising legacy systems to enhance enterprise productivity. Together, they reflect a dynamic and inclusive India AI Ecosystem that addresses local needs while building global leadership in AI-driven innovation.
During the discussion, AI founders praised India’s sustained push to strengthen the India AI Ecosystem. They highlighted the sector’s rapid expansion and immense untapped potential, noting that the global momentum of AI innovation and deployment is increasingly shifting toward India.
According to the participants, the country now offers a supportive and dynamic environment for AI advancement, firmly establishing its presence on the global AI landscape. They also lauded the India AI Impact Summit, describing it as a reflection of the country’s growing stature in shaping global conversations around artificial intelligence and further solidifying the India AI Ecosystem.
Prime Minister Modi congratulated innovators for taking bold risks and building impactful solutions within the India AI Ecosystem. He discussed the potential of harnessing AI technology in key sectors such as agriculture and environmental protection.
He specifically mentioned monitoring crop productivity and fertiliser usage to safeguard soil health, underscoring how the India AI Ecosystem can play a pivotal role in sustainable development.

India AI Ecosystem: Need for Strong Data Governance
Stressing the importance of promoting Indian languages and culture, the Prime Minister called for expanding AI tools for higher education in the mother tongue.
He emphasised that strengthening linguistic inclusion would ensure that the benefits of the India AI Ecosystem reach wider sections of society.
The Prime Minister also underscored the need for strong data governance within the India AI Ecosystem, cautioning against misinformation and urging the development of solutions tailored to India’s needs.
Referring to UPI as a model of simple and scalable digital innovation, he expressed confidence in Indian companies and encouraged trust in domestic products developed within the broader India AI Ecosystem.
He further spoke about expanding private participation in the space sector and noted strong investor interest in Indian startups. The roundtable reflected the government’s continued engagement with innovators to accelerate the next phase of growth for the India AI ecosystem.
The meeting was attended by CEOs and founders of Abridge, Adalat AI, BrainSightAI, Credo AI, Eka Care, Glean, Innogle, Invideo, Miko, Origin, Prophaze, Rasen, Rubrik, SatSure, Supernova and Sypha AI.
Also present were Principal Secretary P K Mishra, Principal Secretary-2 Shaktikanta Das and Minister of State Jitin Prasada.
