New Delhi: The Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, has announced the latest call for applications under its EVolutionS Program, a flagship initiative aimed at boosting electric vehicle (EV) component innovation and commercialization through startup-led solutions.
The application deadline is May 30, 2025.
The DST EVolutionS Program offers financial and incubation support to early-stage startups working on TRL 3–4 technologies with the potential to scale to TRL 6–8.
The program specifically targets the development of indigenous EV components to reduce import dependence and build a robust domestic EV ecosystem.
EVolutionS is a strategic step toward Aatmanirbhar Bharat in EV manufacturing. It aims to empower Indian startups with the resources they need to bring lab-stage innovations to commercial reality.
Key Benefits of the DST EVolutionS Program:
- Funding up to ₹50 lakh (₹20L as grant + ₹30L via equity or CCD)
- Product development, testing, and validation support
- Pilot demonstration and fast-track commercialization opportunities
- Mentorship, incubation, and industry connects via MHI and ACMA
- Alignment with national missions like PM E-Drive and ACC-PLI
Thematic Focus Areas:
- Advanced Chemistry Cell (ACC): Novel battery materials for tropical conditions
- Battery Circularity: Recycling and reuse solutions
- Power Electronics & Machine Drives
- EV Charging Infrastructure
- Standardization & Grid Integration of EV Components
The program supports innovation in electric 2-wheelers, 3-wheelers, 4-wheelers (including L5), e-rickshaws, e-carts, and e-buses, along with supporting EV charging infrastructure.
