Pune: Bharati Vidyapeeth College of Engineering (BVCOE), Pune, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with IBM under the Innovation Center for Education (ICE) program.

This partnership aims to bridge the gap between academic instruction and evolving industry demands by introducing future-ready, industry-aligned undergraduate and minor programs.

The MoU was signed in the presence of leading academic and industry stakeholders, including Sanjiv Mehta (Advisor and Head of Program Development, IBM ICE), Dhaval Shah (Founder and CEO, Datagami), Sanjay Daga (Partner and Director Sales, Datagami), and Shweta Shah (Senior Manager, Academia Relations, Datagami).

Representing Bharati Vidyapeeth were key officials such as Vice Chancellor Dr Vivek A Saoji, Registrar G Jayakumar, Principal Rajesh Prasad, and Dean Suhas H Patil, along with department heads and senior faculty.

The IBM ICE initiative is designed to integrate cutting-edge technologies into the academic curriculum. The new programs will focus on Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Cloud Computing, Cybersecurity, and Blockchain, ensuring students gain both theoretical knowledge and practical expertise.

IBM will support these programs through its exclusive digital courseware, remote mentoring, and real-time lab assistance.

Bharati Vidyapeeth College of Engineering students enrolling in these programs will have access to IBM’s advanced Learning Management Systems, digital toolkits, and collaboration platforms. The courses will also feature workshops, hackathons, poster sessions, and project-based learning, fostering a culture of innovation and experiential education.

Global Certifications and Industry Mentorship

One of the standout features of the Bharati Vidyapeeth College of Engineering – IBM collaboration is the issuance of globally recognized IBM Digital Badges to students upon successful completion of coursework.

Registrar G Jayakumar revealed plans to establish a Center of Excellence at Bharati Vidyapeeth College of Engineering, aimed at solving real-world industry problems and fostering socially impactful innovation.

Principal Rajesh Prasad and Director of Academics Pravin Patil echoed the sentiment, calling the initiative a “transformative leap” in how engineering education is delivered, particularly in areas like curriculum design, faculty development, and student readiness.
