Mumbai: Waaree Energies Ltd, India’s leading solar energy solutions provider, has emerged as the top solar module supplier in India for Q1 2025, commanding a 17.3% market share, according to a new report released by JMK Research.

This milestone reinforces Waaree’s position as a key driver of India’s clean energy revolution and its commitment to the ‘Make in India’ vision.

India’s solar capacity witnessed strong growth in the first quarter of 2025, adding 5.93 GW of utility-scale solar – a 12.2% increase over the previous quarter – along with 1.34 GW of rooftop installations.

With these additions, the country’s cumulative solar capacity reached 105.6 GW as of March 2025, cementing its status as the largest contributor to India’s renewable energy landscape.

Waaree Energies: Championing Domestic Manufacturing

Waaree Energies outperformed 23 other solar module suppliers to become the market leader, demonstrating the industry’s growing trust in Indian-made solutions.

Notably, domestic manufacturers contributed a dominant 89.9% of total module shipments in Q1 2025, underlining the sector’s strong pivot toward indigenous production.

“Our No.1 position in the solar module market is a reflection of Waaree’s commitment to innovation, reliability, and accelerating India’s transition to clean energy,” said Dr Amit Paithankar, Whole-time Director & CEO, Waaree Energies Ltd. “This success also validates the rising confidence in domestic manufacturing and is a step forward in India’s journey towards energy independence.”

Waaree’s leadership is not limited to India. The company doubled its export volumes in Q1 2025 compared to the previous quarter, solidifying its position as a global solar module exporter.

With an installed manufacturing capacity of ~15 GW and operations across 25+ countries, Waaree continues to deliver world-class, cost-effective, and high-efficiency solar PV modules worldwide.

Looking ahead, India’s solar sector is expected to grow rapidly, with JMK Research forecasting the addition of over 30 GW of new capacity in FY2026.

Waaree Energies manufacturing excellence and technology-driven approach are poised to play a central role in meeting India’s 500 GW renewable energy target by 2030.

By combining innovation, robust exports, and a focus on local supply chains, Waaree Energies continues to lead India’s clean energy transformation – both at home and on the global stage.
