JSW Motors Specific Curriculum for EV Manufacturing

Under the partnership, JSW Motors and Tata IIS will co-develop a specialized curriculum tailored to the requirements of modern EV manufacturing.

The programme will cover critical domains including EV systems, automation, welding, CNC operations, battery systems, and advanced manufacturing technologies.

Importantly, JSW Motors will retain hiring control and curriculum validation rights, ensuring the training framework remains closely aligned with its evolving production requirements and plant ramp-up plans.

This approach reinforces JSW Motors’ focus on operational readiness and workforce capability as core business priorities.

“At JSW Motors, skilling is not an HR function, it is a business imperative. As we build our manufacturing operations, we need people who are ready from Day One. The Tata IIS partnership gives us structured capability, relevant curriculum, and the execution rigour aligned to our timelines. This is a deliberate bridge as we work towards building our own world- class training academy.” said Rupam Singh, Chief Human Resources Officer, JSW Motors Limited.

Tata IIS Selected After Competitive Evaluation

Tata IIS was selected by JSW Motors following a competitive evaluation of leading skilling institutions across India. The institute stood out due to its industry-grade training infrastructure, strong OEM engagement track record, and application-based training methodology suited to the demands of advanced EV manufacturing.

The collaboration also builds upon the existing association between JSW Foundation and Tata IIS across broader group-level skilling initiatives, further strengthening institutional alignment in workforce development.

“At Tata IIS, our mission is to solve the nation’s skill challenges by creating a next generation workforce that is not just job-ready, but future-ready. This partnership with JSW Motors is a significant step toward that goal. By designing bespoke programs in Advanced Manufacturing, we are equipping India’s youth with the high-precision skills required to drive the next generation of automotive excellence and ensuring a robust, consistent talent pipeline for our industry partners.” said Venguswamy Ramaswamy, CEO Designate, Tata Indian Institute of Skills.

As operations scale, JSW Motors plans to establish a dedicated in-house training academy focused on advanced manufacturing and future mobility technologies. The initiative is expected to position JSW Motors as a capability leader aligned with its manufacturing ambitions and New Energy Vehicle strategy.

With its greenfield plant at Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar nearing commissioning, the partnership signals JSW Motors’ intent to embed structured skilling and workforce development at the core of its growth journey in India’s evolving EV manufacturing landscape.
