  • InfinityX Innovations Secures TDB-DST Support to Scale Automated Battery Swapping Infrastructure for EVs

    InfinityX Innovations

New Delhi: InfinityX Innovations has received a significant boost from the Technology Development Board (TDB), under the Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India, to accelerate the deployment of automated battery swapping infrastructure.

The agreement with InfinityX Innovations Private Limited, Bengaluru, marks a strategic step toward commercializing and scaling an indigenous battery swapping ecosystem for electric vehicles (EVs).

The project, titled “Automated Battery Swapping Stations for Electric Vehicles (EVs),” aims to develop and deploy IoT-enabled, fully automated battery swapping stations.

InfinityX Innovations is focusing on reducing EV downtime by enabling complete battery swaps in under 40 seconds – addressing a critical bottleneck in EV adoption, particularly for commercial fleets and last-mile delivery operations.

InfinityX Innovations to Establish Dedicated Manufacturing Facility in Bengaluru

The solution developed by InfinityX Innovations integrates advanced battery systems with automated swapping infrastructure, ensuring high thermal stability and operational reliability across diverse Indian conditions.

Its modular battery architecture allows compatibility across multiple vehicle platforms, enabling interoperability and scalable deployment.

This makes the system particularly suitable for high-utilization applications such as gig economy services and fleet-based mobility solutions.

With support from TDB, InfinityX Innovations plans to establish a dedicated manufacturing facility in Bengaluru. This facility will focus on scaling the production of next-generation battery packs and automated swapping stations.

The initiative is expected to contribute to building a standardized and interoperable battery swapping network, strengthening India’s EV ecosystem while reducing dependence on imported technologies.

Rajesh Kumar Pathak, Secretary, TDB, emphasized the importance of scalable charging alternatives in accelerating EV adoption.

He noted that indigenous innovations like automated battery swapping systems can play a transformative role in enabling faster adoption of electric mobility, especially in high-demand commercial segments, while supporting India’s self-reliance goals in clean mobility technologies.

The CEO and Founder of InfinityX Innovations Private Limited expressed appreciation for the support, stating that the assistance will enable rapid scale-up of the company’s technology platform.

He highlighted that reducing battery transition time to under 40 seconds makes EV energy replenishment comparable to conventional refuelling, significantly improving operational efficiency and accessibility for users.
