Thane: KIMS Hospitals Thane has launched a Centre of Excellence in Cardiac Sciences, bringing together a team of 11 highly experienced cardiac specialists. This new facility establishes Thane as a regional hub for advanced and comprehensive cardiac care for both adults and children.
The Centre of Excellence in Cardiac Sciences integrates cutting-edge medical technology with extensive expertise, backed by a track record of more than 1 lakh angiographies, over 35,000 angioplasties, 15,000 pediatric interventions and surgeries, and more than 250 TAVI procedures.

The facility provides a wide range of cardiac services including diagnostics, non-invasive cardiology, interventional cardiology, complex cardiac surgery, and pediatric cardiac interventions.
Expert Medical Team at the Centre of Excellence in Cardiac Sciences
The department is headed by Dr B C Kalmath, Director and HOD of Cardiac Sciences, along with senior cardiologists Dr Dayanand Kumbla, Dr Vimlesh Pandey, and Dr Dipak Patil. The team also includes electrophysiologist Dr Sameer Rane and structural heart specialist Dr. Rushab Parikh.
Their expertise covers procedures such as primary and complex multi-vessel angioplasties, structural heart interventions like TAVI, TMVR, and aortic stenting, heart failure management including LVAD and Impella, as well as electrophysiology procedures like ICD, pacemaker, and combo device implantation. Cardiac surgeons bring expertise in open heart, minimally invasive, and robotic cardiac surgeries.

The Pediatric Cardiology Department is led by Dr. Srinivas L (Chief Interventional Pediatric Cardiologist), Dr Sunil GS (Chief Pediatric Cardiac Surgeon), and Dr Sonia Karapurkar (Pediatric & Fetal Cardiologist). The department specializes in pediatric cardiac interventions and congenital heart surgeries, ensuring young patients receive world-class care.
