Dell India AI Blueprint Sets National Framework for Trusted AI Infrastructure

Dell India AI Blueprint

New Delhi: The Dell India AI Blueprint was officially launched by Dell Technologies at the India AI Impact Summit 2026, marking a significant step toward advancing India’s trusted and sovereign artificial intelligence ecosystem.

The Dell India AI Blueprint, titled “Advancing India’s AI Future: A Blueprint for Trusted, Secure and Nationwide Success,” presents a structured, execution-focused framework to help India translate its AI ambition into national-scale impact, positioning artificial intelligence as the next evolution of the country’s Digital Public Infrastructure ecosystem.

The Dell India AI Blueprint outlines a national execution framework to scale AI as a core pillar of India’s Digital Public Infrastructure, aligned with the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.

It is designed to support India’s policy priorities, including the IndiaAI Mission, the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, and the Safe and Trusted AI framework.

The blueprint provides clear recommendations across sovereign AI infrastructure, energy-resilient data centres, federated data foundations, workforce development, and responsible governance.

India has demonstrated global leadership in deploying digital platforms at population scale through initiatives such as Aadhaar and Unified Payments Interface, as part of the broader Digital Public Infrastructure ecosystem.

The Dell India AI Blueprint highlights how India can build on this foundation and move from pilot AI projects to production-scale deployment by treating AI as a shared national capability rather than fragmented technology initiatives.

Why the Dell India AI Blueprint Matters

The Dell India AI Blueprint arrives at a critical juncture for India’s digital economy. Artificial intelligence has the potential to drive productivity gains across sectors, modernise public services, and strengthen India’s strategic autonomy in the global digital landscape.

Industry estimates indicate that AI workloads in India are projected to grow at approximately 30 percent CAGR through 2030, while the IndiaAI Mission anticipates national compute demand reaching 12–15 exaFLOPS by the end of the decade.

At the same time, projections suggest that data centres could consume up to 8% of India’s electricity by 2030.

The Dell India AI Blueprint addresses this reality by offering practical recommendations that convert policy ambition – including the IndiaAI Mission and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act – into scalable, trusted, and energy-aware execution models.

By aligning infrastructure expansion with sustainability and regulatory frameworks, the Dell India AI Blueprint aims to create a coordinated roadmap for nationwide AI adoption.

A Clear Execution Framework for Nationwide AI Adoption

The Dell India AI Blueprint is structured around three mutually reinforcing pillars – INVEST, INNOVATE, and EVOLVE – each supported by targeted recommendations.

  • INVEST: Sovereign and Resilient AI Infrastructure

Under the INVEST pillar, the Dell India AI Blueprint calls for establishing sovereign, resilient AI infrastructure at national scale. Recommendations include expanding AI compute capacity, building energy-efficient data centres, and developing lawful, federated data foundations.

The framework advocates for a national AI compute strategy with defined capacity targets and regional deployment aligned with innovation clusters. It also recommends transparent access to compute infrastructure for startups, academia, MSMEs, and public institutions.

The Dell India AI Blueprint further emphasizes integrating compute growth with power availability, connectivity, and sustainability, while accelerating domestic manufacturing to strengthen supply-chain resilience.

  • INNOVATE: Workforce and Ecosystem Development

With projections indicating that India may require nearly one million AI professionals by 2030, the Dell India AI Blueprint places strong emphasis on coordinated workforce development.

The framework recommends integrating AI literacy across education systems, expanding AI Centres of Excellence beyond metro cities, establishing civil service AI academies, and enabling applied research within open, sovereign AI ecosystems.

By aligning education, industry, and government efforts, the Dell India AI Blueprint seeks to ensure that India’s AI growth is inclusive and innovation-driven.

  • EVOLVE: Responsible Governance and Trust-by-Design

As AI systems become more deeply embedded in critical sectors, the Dell India AI Blueprint underscores the importance of trust-by-design.

It supports India’s principles-based and sector-led governance approach while recommending clearer operational guidance, stronger AI cybersecurity baselines, and broader adoption of Zero Trust architectures.

The blueprint also calls for enhanced provenance, testing, and assurance mechanisms to address emerging risks such as data poisoning, adversarial attacks, and model misuse.

Through these measures, the Dell India AI Blueprint aims to balance innovation with accountability and security.
