AUSTIN, Texas and Fal.Con 2026, Las Vegas: CrowdStrike and OpenAI have expanded their partnership to extend enterprise security to Codex agents and bring OpenAI’s GPT-5.6 Cyber to the CrowdStrike Falcon platform.
The expanded collaboration, announced on September 2, 2026, aims to help organizations secure AI agents at the point of execution while using advanced cyber reasoning to assess risks and prioritize actions with greater speed, precision and scale.
The partnership was announced by CrowdStrike at Fal.Con 2026 in Las Vegas.
Under the expanded collaboration, Codex agents will be secured through Falcon Guardian, CrowdStrike’s AI Detection and Response (AIDR) solution, while GPT-5.6 Cyber will be integrated into the Falcon platform.
Securing Codex Agents With Falcon Guardian
Falcon Guardian is designed to go beyond security posture and governance by controlling Codex agents at runtime.
The solution helps organizations understand agent activity, identify compromised or unauthorized behavior and respond to potential threats before they spread across endpoint, SaaS, cloud and browser environments.
With Falcon Guardian, organizations can gain visibility into supported Codex agents operating across the enterprise, including information on who deployed them, what they can access and their security status.
The solution also connects Codex agent activity directly to Falcon telemetry, allowing organizations to monitor what agents are doing in real time.

CrowdStrike said Falcon Guardian provides organizations with capabilities to:
- Discover Codex Agents: Gain a live inventory of supported Codex agents running across the enterprise, including who deployed them, what they access and their security status.
- Runtime Visibility: Connect Codex agent activity directly to Falcon telemetry to see what agents are doing in real time.
- Detect and Respond: Detect compromised or unauthorized Codex agent behavior and respond before it spreads.
- Enforce Controls: Define which supported agent actions are permitted, translating governance policy into enforceable runtime controls.
By securing Codex agents at runtime, the expanded CrowdStrike and OpenAI partnership focuses on providing organizations with greater visibility and control over AI agent activity.
Bringing GPT-5.6 Cyber to the Falcon Platform
The partnership also expands the use of OpenAI’s GPT-5.6 Cyber across the CrowdStrike Falcon platform. CrowdStrike said advanced cyber reasoning delivers the most value when combined with relevant context, expert oversight and well-designed workflows.
Beginning with the CrowdStrike Frontier AI Readiness and Resilience (FAIRR) Service and expanding across the Falcon platform, CrowdStrike combines adversary intelligence, frontline expertise, structured threat modeling, exploit validation and workflow orchestration.
The approach is designed to focus GPT-5.6 Cyber’s advanced reasoning capabilities on precise and actionable assessments for defenders.
Through the FAIRR Service, approved and authorized defensive use cases can apply GPT-5.6 Cyber within CrowdStrike’s purpose-built cyber harness.
The service is designed to assess risk, analyze attack paths and inform remediation priorities with expert oversight.
The expanded partnership therefore brings together runtime security for Codex agents with advanced cyber reasoning through GPT-5.6 Cyber on the Falcon platform.
