Blue Cloud Softech and Orange Pioneer BNG-Based BSNL 5G FWA Deployment in India

BSNL 5G FWA

Hyderabad: Blue Cloud Softech Solutions Ltd. (BCSSL) (BSE: 539607) has successfully completed India’s first enterprise-grade BSNL 5G FWA deployment, achieving formal Proof of Concept (POC) sign-off at the MINDI Exchange in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.

The project was executed in collaboration with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) and Orange Business Services.

BSNL 5G FWA Deployment Enabled Through BNG-Based Architecture

As part of the BSNL 5G FWA deployment, BCSSL implemented a first-of-its-kind Broadband Network Gateway (BNG)-based subscriber management framework, moving beyond conventional tunnel-centric approaches such as GRE.

This advanced architecture enables carrier-grade subscriber authentication, dynamic IP address allocation, Quality of Service (QoS) enforcement, and seamless integration with BSNL’s billing and Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting (AAA) systems.

The BNG-driven design ensures native broadband session control and policy enforcement, offering superior scalability, reliability, and operational readiness compared to traditional tunnelling mechanisms.

This makes the solution fully aligned with large-scale ISP and enterprise broadband requirements, strengthening BSNL’s preparedness for commercial 5G FWA rollout.

Successful Validation of End-to-End BSNL 5G FWA Deployment

The POC validated the end-to-end BSNL 5G FWA deployment, including 5G access network, core, radio, and customer premises equipment (CPE), under real-world field conditions.

All planned test cases – covering throughput, latency, jitter, session setup, and connection stability – were executed successfully and met the defined key performance indicators (KPIs).

The deployment demonstrated seamless interoperability between QuadGen RAN, HPE Core, and BSNL’s transport, BNG, and AAA systems.

The project was supervised, tested, and formally validated by BSNL’s technical teams, who confirmed successful POC completion.

  • Successful validation of 5G RAN, Core, and integration test cases
  • Stable performance with compliant KPIs under BSNL supervision
  • Seamless integration with BSNL’s backbone and billing systems
  • Readiness for commercial deployment and expansion to additional locations

BSNL POC Sign-Off Confirmation

BSNL, in its formal sign-off statement, confirmed that all RAN, Core, and integration test cases were executed successfully under technical supervision.

The solution demonstrated stable performance, compliant KPIs, and successful 5G PDU session establishment with PPPoE billing workflow following integration of the N6 interface with the BNG.

Commenting on the successful completion of the POC at the MINDI Exchange, Visakhapatnam, Tejesh Kodali, Group Chairman of Blue Cloud Softech Solutions Ltd, stated that the collaboration with BSNL and Orange Business Services marks a significant milestone in delivering next-generation connectivity solutions.

He noted that the successful BSNL 5G FWA deployment validates the company’s technical capabilities and sets the foundation for commercial rollout and nationwide expansion.

With the completion of this milestone, Blue Cloud Softech Solutions Ltd is positioned to move forward with commercial deployments, leveraging insights from the POC to deliver scalable, enterprise-grade 5G broadband experiences across India.
